I agree that anyone who threatens the existence of the board should be banned. That should be the policy and practice of the place--but unfortunately, it isn't either stated policy or demonstrated practice.

I'm not sure that Jersey threatened the existence of the board.

At least, not like William Law and friends did.

Hey all,

It has been over 3 weeks since my last post here at MDB. Although my intentions are to greatly reduce my participation here, a brief check in on the board has caused me to log in and reply to this thread.

Jersey Girl banned for life? Really? You have got to be joking?

As I have not been following the recent activity here (I simply do not know exactly what all went down), I can't imagine any possible circumstances where the team of moderators/administrators would decide, together, to ban a member like Jersey Girl forever.

Given all that I have seen/read on this board over the last few years, it is entirely and completely impossible for this result (a lifetime Jersey Girl ban) to even exist on the realm of possible actions to be taken. No way! No how!

Given the plethora of diverse and worthy contributions made by this member over an extended period of time (whether you happen to agree with them or not). I find the decision (that seems to have been made to ban Jersey Girl for life?) to be an enormous loss to all who frequent this board.

Jersey Girl banned for life from the MDB?????????
You have got to be kidding me!!!!!

Peace,

Agreed.

Isn't this an incentive to maintain Jersey Girl's banning?

Hmm, hadn't thought of that.

It ain't over till it's over. And it's not over yet.

Okay, I have an idea.

Who here has read "The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson?

It is the quintessentially Mormon thing to do--threaten litigation because you do not like what others are saying.

If Jersey Girl did threaten litigation, then that is her 'baptism' into "the Church".

Are you suggesting that we periodically hold a lottery where the winner is permanently banned? At very least it would be entertaining.
