why me wrote:Lets hope that the piece is published. By John wanting to censor it or squash it, shows that he is not the open guy he wishes to be when it comes to the LDS church. He was afraid of something. However, since the article was written by a private person, it will only be a matter of time before it is published on the web. Then, we can all have a wonderful dialogue about it.
Do you think the private person who wrote the alleged hit piece has been an 'open guy' about its contents?
If not, why not?
“We look to not only the spiritual but also the temporal, and we believe that a person who is impoverished temporally cannot blossom spiritually.” Keith McMullin - Counsellor in Presiding Bishopric
"One, two, three...let's go shopping!" Thomas S Monson - Prophet, Seer, Revelator
Instead, he brought to the attention of a GA the fact that he had been informed that the Maxwell Institute intended to publish a hundred page article (which is an astonishingly long article by academic standards) devoted to attacking him (being an as yet not disfellowshipped or excommunicated member of the CoJCoLDS) and Mormon Stories.
That GA evidently thought it would be bad for the church if such an article was published, and asked the Maxwell Institute to pull the article. That action was the responsibility of the GA in question.
If the author of the article thinks it is important to bring it to the attention of the public, he is free to post it on the internet. For some reason he has not yet chosen to do that.
Zadok: I did not have a faith crisis. I discovered that the Church was having a truth crisis. Maksutov: That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.
