I've always enjoyed the Church's teachings on arranged marriages and dowries.
And if there is any organization that can claim to be founded on traditional, one man/one woman marriage, certainly that organization is the LDS Church.

I thought this was supposed to be a thread focusing on "positives", but I knew it was all total BS, because you'll never sincerely see any positives in Mormonism. Build it up, then blast it away.
Par for the course here.

Sorry. I really did mean for this to be a positive thread. I removed my snarky post.

I think the OP is implying real positives, not false positives. Mormons volunteering to help their own church and donating to their own church are examples of charity in the same sense that the pantry in my house is a food bank.

There is nothing uniquely good about the church. Anything positive about it can be found in lots of organizations. The negatives out weigh the positives by a long shot.

Wow, because "other" people do it - it isn't good and positive. Really?!?son of Ishmael wrote:There is nothing uniquely good about the church. Anything positive about it can be found in lots of organizations. The negatives out weigh the positives by a long shot.

Perhaps it is because you were trying to compare, unfairly, LDS with everyone else, and Darth just tried to provide some perspective. He was not stating LDS are lazy or less willing to help out then others. These types of numbers in many cases do not tell an accurate story. If you had just said LDS teach people to serve others I doubt anyone would have said anything.

I said "uniquely good". Sure the church does some good things. The Hell's Angels do some good things Vitto Coroloni did some good things etc, etc, etc,
