Atheism is the absence of a belief system more than it is a belief system. There aren't a lot of positive statements you can generate from not believing in gods. The thread is trying to couch what rejecting theism gets you, but the problem is that belief is diverse enough that you can't do a lot with that. Being atheist doesn't obligate you to do anything besides not believe in gods. But believing in God doesn't obligate you to do a lot either. Believers in God might more frequently go to Church but it isn't a requisite.

Absence of belief is not belief in absence...

Atheism does not require one to negate truth and historical fact to "believe" in a dubious philosophy.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

Ok...

Atheism doesn't get you much. Atheists can believe in lots of things, though. Many of them positive. Unless it is, "Don't believe in God" it just won't be from atheism. Atheism doesn't have any teachings, so the thread question really is DOA.

Atheists can be susceptible to a variety of things found here that are meant as backhanded insults of religion. Likewise, not believing in any old "x" probably suffices for anything listed here too. Don't believe aliens are telepathically communicating with the world's cows? Well, that view doesn't require you to negate historical fact! I guess.

I am atheist - and I am always right.

I can't think of any wars started in the name of atheism.

Atheists don't don't take a "It's gonna get worse before it gets better" attitude. Why wait for Jesus to return to solve all the world's problems when we could be solving them now?

I think that not all, but many Christians, Muslims, and Jews are waiting with baited breath for their God to return and kill or silence all those that don't believe in their faith which is disturbing to me.
Tapirs... Yeah... That's the ticket!
