they were nothing like you, thankfully.
I've known and worked with a number of Muslims who were all fine people. That doesn't alter the reality that Islamism is the most dangerous religion on the planet.

are you aware of the distinction in public discourse between "Islam" and "Islamism"? did you intend to conflate the two there or was that just carelessness on your part?
in any case, my comment about Muslims i've known was just a personal aside. it was offered as a contrast to the nastiness of the OP, not as a vindication of Islam, let alone Islamism.
Is this thread a battle of personalities or a discussion of Islam(ist) expansion? Are the facts in the OP in dispute? From whence cometh the snarkiness? Is there an unwritten rule that Islam must be protected on this board?

I was reading the LDS Churches "Deseret News" for Sunday 8 July 2012. There is an article in it entitled "U.S. mosques often more Middle America than Middle East" Islamic communities teach followers to blend American and Islamic Values. What a crock of sh*t.
I wonder when the last time they send a pair of LDS missionaries into the Islamic communities located in Detroit (not to mention Malaysia). Why does the LDS church seam bent on caring water for the Islamics ? I don't get it? Can someone explain that to me? I think Glenn Beck aught to have a sit down discussion with LDS Church leaders and set them straight on the threat Islam poses to all freedom loving people.
There are as many different kinds of Muslims are there are different kinds of Christians and different kinds of Jews. If you really must condemn an entire religion, narrow your focus to one of the evil branches of Islam, and do not paint every Muslim with the same brush.
I started going through the article with a point-by-point argument, but really it all boils down to this: the author is using statistics inaccurately. Problems in the countries listed are far, far more complex than can be blamed on "x% of Muslim population." The problems in Europe, in particular, are because the economy has tanked and there is a huge influx of refugees (many of whom do happen to be Muslim).

No.

yup
did you intend to conflate the two there or was that just carelessness on your part?
Carelessness if you wish. Nonetheless, the two do go hand in hand wherever the percentage of the population that is Muslim is great. That is just the dynamics of it. Thus the danger inherent in Islam.
