Nevo's been around a long time.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

This.

Although, I do believe my sainted mother would find it embarrassing if I informed her that Dr. Peterson is affiliated with BYU. And, I do believe that if she were to spend time reading through and digesting those comments, she would wish that Peterson/Schryver had just stayed mum. She does prefer for her faith to be represented in its best light. However, the chances of her being motivated to familiarize herself with the characters involved are pretty slim.

I find that the Peterson, Schryver, & Friends online train-that-keeps-on-a-wreckin' is like a long-running soap opera, or a poor-man's "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia". After viewing a single episode without context, and without the guidance of an already-hooked enthusiast, you might wonder "Really? People watch this? Really? Pathetic." And then, because someone else is watching it in the break-room during lunch, you end up knowing far more about the characters and plot-line than you ever would have cared to know. And then, before you know it, you're looking forward to the next episode knowing all the while that your time would be far better spent with a good book.

I've never seen him before now. He must be a sock puppet. Only sock puppets would question anything said here about Peterson and Schryver.

I agree that most TBM's have never heard of Peterson or Schryver. Of course, they've never heard of this place either.

You're right that "any normal Mormon" would regard me as a heretic. But not because of my "apologetics". I am not an Mormon apologist. I'm an agnostic. Have been for years now. But I'm also not someone who jumps on the band wagon of whatever the crowd here believes in. I'm an apologist for truth wherever I find it.

I'm pretty sure by "Ludd" he was referring to William Schryver, accepting the hypothesis that you're Schryver's sock puppet. But thanks for giving at least a tiny bit of background on your overall viewpoint. A lot of the problems on that other thread might have been avoided if you had posted enough here for people to get a sense of where you're coming from before jumping in and asking for sourced details on a subject that had been hashed and rehashed ad nauseum.

Well, that irrelevancy goes without saying. Has anyone ever held otherwise?

And, of course, I say that not as an insult, but as an individual who has enjoyed this board immensely over the past few years.

An anonymous person asks an anonymous person who asks an agnostic to come to MD to check on any dirt being dealt on DCP, Schryver and Hamblin.

Yes, yes, I see, its all falling in place now.

Ludd wrote:I just scanned through the comments section you linked to. Peterson has LOTS to say. He must have made fifty comments or more on that thread! And he comes across as someone who has a severe persecution complex. It's ridiculous and he should have just stopped. But from what I could see, Schryver didn't post more than three posts...
