Pahoran wrote:Note that the first time I saw your blog post was today.

Between July 25th and July 30, I stayed in Utah with our mutual friend Calmoriah for the Sunstone Conference. One night I was sitting at her table, and she said to me, "Oh, I told Pahoran about your blog post. He removed your quote from his signature." I later went upstairs to my room and hopped on my laptop. Sure enough, you had removed my material from the signature of your "[real name omitted]" account and replaced it with this: "People who gain delight and satisfaction by quote mining from online discussions to make others look bad really ought to ensure that their own contributions, whether public or private, are not going to embarrass them if brought to the attention of others." (exact quote). It was clearly directed at me.

So if you hadn't seen the blog post with your own eyes at that point, you were at least aware that I didn't want my private material being discussed in public. Yet you still went back to discussing it under your Pahoran handle on August 2, in multiple posts.

If I was an obsessive, relentless hater who pursued personal vendettas to the last gasp, I probably would.

But I'm pleased to say that, whatever my faults may be, such behaviour is entirely beneath me.

Pahoran ~ We both know that there is no more to the correspondence that would shape the issue one way or another. If you aren't going to make good on an offer to post it, then please stop pretending otherwise.

Y'know Jack, if you're going to be all self-righteous and simon-pure about the need to so easily abandon your own so-called "principles" in order to "set the record straight," then you ought not to so brazenly misrepresent the record that is right in front of everyone's noses. What I actually said was:

Pahoran wrote:If I wanted to, I could "set the record straight" by posting the entirety of our correspondence; the record would then be a whole lot "straighter" than it is now.

But I won't.

So as everyone can see, I made no "offer" on which to not "make good." Kindly refrain from pretending that I did.

You could do no such thing because "the entirety of our correspondence" has nothing more to tell.

Boy, Pahoran isn't looking very good here. It seems to me that MsJack has given him every opportunity to set the record straight, and his response has been to sputter and make excuses. I personally think he should post all the correspondence, as MsJack suggested. (Why Pahoran thinks doing this would make him "an obsessive, relentless hater who pursued personal vendettas to the last gasp"--particularly when MsJack asked him to! And she said "please"!--is beyond me, but there you have it.)

I'm sure you think so. But since I went to the trouble of deleting all references to our previous correspondence -- foolishly and naïvely taking you at your word that that was what you really wanted -- it would seem rather silly to go back on that and post it all just because you are jeering, taunting and daring me, wouldn't it?

Let me know when you are ready to have an adult discussion about any subject, Jack. It clearly won't be today.

One thing I am learning from this board: don't rumble with msj. She will pin you to the wall. And, she takes copius notes.
It is better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener at war.

Some of us, on the other hand, actually prefer a religion that includes some type of correlation with reality.

More excuses. What a shocker. And what's next, I wonder? More smoke? More attempts to wiggle out of this? Or are you going to post the material and show everyone how much of an "obsessive, relentless hater" MsJack actually is?

It's quite a pickle you're in here, isn't it? I mean, if you do anything other than post the correspondence, you're going to fulfill my predictions concerning your cowardice and guilt. And boy, that would just be the worst, wouldn't it?
