You seem to be suffering from a lack of reading comprehension or Fortigurn's Lazy Research. The doctrine remains that the ban was from God. It has always been the case that we don't know exactly why. It has never been the case that the ban fits into the category of racism.

You know as well as everyone else here that the FAIRisees and DANCPites disagree with you and would ban you for posting against their pet theories.

They looked so bad that they took down their pinned notice on the subject and I have begun to post again the truth of the matter. They had a very difficult time justifying their hypothesis' with doctrine that continues to be published.

You're a damned idiot.

Better that than to be illiterate. If you can't be big, don't belittle.

Given that the FP has no idea why the ban was instigated in the first place (see Newsroom statement) you cannot say it wasn't racist

Then by the same token, you can't say that it was. However, I have never seen a hypothesis or doctrine, in or out of the Church that says tha ben came about because of someone's skin color. In fact, even anti Mormons seem to be in agreement that the ban came about just prior or at the same time as skin color so even they must admit that racism doesn't play a role.

So we're agreed, you are just speculating that it wasn't racially motivated.

It's a damn shame you waste your literacy on BS like FrontPage and WND.

The skin color was said by the FP to be one of the "handicaps" that were given to people based on "the conduct of spirits in the premortal existence." Your prevaricating about this does not make you look particularly good. Stop lying, and just acknowledge what the church has taught and why.

Ah yes...the quite, calm, assured urbanity of Mormondiscussions.com - and the Left. Not understanding the Church's official position on this would require nearly incomprehensible ignorance - or a relentless resistance to rudimentary rational thought.

The 1949 statement won't help you out here.

Actually, the Church's official position on the question of why the ban was instigated is "screwed if we know  "

Good to hear that, given that I was unceremoniously flung from that forum for taking Martin Luther King's core position on colorblindness and character content as the basis for human relations between people who look different.

In other words you have no answer. Is anyone surprised?

Interesting, bc, how calm, rational argument and a bit of truth brings out the F-word in people.

I've used up more bandwidth here on this subject than perhaps any other. If you've missed those, there are archives here (and at the MDB).
