I think most rational people would reject the premise that any progress at all in those areas vis a vis the LDS Church needs to be made in the first place.

Didn't have to. I am familiar with LDS doctrine.
Jeezus
Name's Brian actually.
Here's something sinister for you though. Do you think the first example in the list implies plural marriage? To the Young Women, the word was "family". To the Young Men, the word was "families".
I don't recall the doctrine that girls and boys need to be taught the same topic in a different manner.

I got it. Take a keg and a tap to priesthood meeting. Tell the young men that its their place to tap that.
"And the human knew the source of life, the woman of him, and she conceived and bore Cain, and said, 'I have procreated a man with Yahweh.'" Gen. 4:1, interior quote translated by D. Bokovoy.
Ask the young women to search "The Family: A Proclamation to the World" and find what the proclamation teaches about gender and the divine roles of fathers and mothers. How is this different than what the world teaches?
Does the church really want to go there? We can also read the Book of Mormon and find what it teaches about skin color. How is this different than what the world teaches? We can read D&C 132 and find what it teaches about marriage. How is this different than what the world teaches? You see, kids, this is why Mormons are a peculiar people.

That's true, but that's because most rational people would reject the premise that the teachings of the LDS Church have any relevance to anything that happens in the real world.

Then shall they be gods, because they have no end; therefore shall they be from everlasting to everlasting, because they continue; then shall they be above all, because all things are subject unto them. Then shall they be gods, because they have all power, and the angels are subject unto them (D&C 132:20).
Nothing is going to startle us more when we pass through the veil to the other side than to realize how well we know our Father [in Heaven] and how familiar his face is to us

Yeah, welcome back to the sixties. The last train to civilization left sometime in '68, and the bridge is still out.

The fact of the matter is that vast numbers of extremely rational and educated people do not take this kind of shallow, intellectually facile atheism seriously, preferring to approach such questions with with philosophical depth and close reasoning.
