Creepy cult is... Creepy.

Yep. And so it begins.

"We love you." "We miss you." "Please come back!"

I posted this on the MC this week:

If Mormons asked for no contact, but we ignored them.

If we brought them love bombs of roasted coffee beans, cakes, candies, cookies and muffins - and left them on their doorsteps. Ok, maybe not coffee beans.

If we left little notes on their doors about ex-Mormon gatherings, or - "We are just thinking about you. We miss you so much."

If we stopped by incessantly hoping that their hearts would soften and they would quit being so stiff-necked and quit being Mormons.

What if we invited their children to fun activities and didn't tell them that they were really going to be attending de-fellowship activities geared around exposing the truth behind Mormonism.

What if we sent our kids by with anti-Mormon literature when they weren't home no matter how many times they told us to leave them alone.

What if we invited them to de-fellowship meetings disguised as "Neighborhood Picnics" in hopes that they would see how "Normal" Ex-Mormons really are. Once they were there, we would do our best to try and get them to attend Ex-Mormon meetings, or to have Ex-Home Teachers or Ex-Visiting Teachers visit them.

If we invited them to a public pool (as a neighborhood) - and they could get in free if they just mentioned that they were with "The Ex-Mormon 14th Group", otherwise they'd have to pay.

What if we just invited ourselves over as friends so that we could see what is going on - "just in case the person needs something".

What if we scheduled Ex-Visiting Teachers and Ex-Home Teachers to them to bring the message of Ex-Mormonism into their homes.

There are no boundaries when the work of helping Mormons get out of Mormonism needs to be done.

People don't really mean NO contact when they say NO contact.

Trespassing, harassment, and stalking are high minded and loving when it comes to helping Mormons.

Mormons do all of these things to us. What would they think if we did the same things to them?

Some Bishops won't care if you want them to contact you or not. They see it as part of their calling to bring you back to the fold...

I have had pretty good experiences with bishops, they are generally good people. I know that there will always be those that try and reach out. If one is not in a position to resign then the contacts will continue. I have not found it difficult to maintain what kind of contact is acceptable to me. Usually the Nancy Reagan approach works fine.

When I was a TBM I served in three different Bishoprics. Two of them were pretty good about respecting people's wishes not to be contacted. The other one didn't care what people said. He saw it as his duty to keep and maintain contact with them.

When I left the church, we told the Bishop that we did not want any contact with the church and he has been good to his word. I have since sent in my resignation.

It's funny, when we decided not to be active anymore we spoke with our local leaders to inform them of our decision and to let them know that our decision didn't have to do with anyone's behavior toward us or anything like that and that we're happy to have people over...haven't seen a soul. Well, a couple missionaries came by not too long ago, but after explaining my views (upon their request) I haven't seen them since. <shrug>

The last set of missionaries to visit us had a kid from snowflake, arizona. I asked him what his plans were after his mission. He said he plans on joining the marines. In the area I live there have been plenty of hardships due to deployment and other wartime sadnesses. I informed him of this and he said he was sad the U.S. was leaving afghanistan because he wanted his chance there. I told him he had no idea what he was talking about. I also informed him that he was not a fighter and not capable of comprehending conflict on that level (I was being a dick but this kid deserved it). He just put his head down and did not talk again. We have not heard from the missionaries since. He got the last laugh because he took a dump in one of our bathrooms. What a dick.

Infymus,

Great post, I especially liked the part of having missionary movements disguised as activities for kids and adults. It is rather creepy. Basically, every church bball night is a missionary night when non-members attend.

We got this same thing in Utah when we stopped going to church. It hasn't happened (yet) outside of Brigham Young's kingdom.

??? Would you rather he did so on your floor?

It seems to me that exercising such a bodily function in a bathroom is, well, sort of what a bathroom is for.

I lolled at this.

Missionaries often use bathrooms as a place to pray. That way they're in your house, they can get on their knees and pray that you'll succumb to their message. It's a known trick.

In this case, the Lord prompted him to stink bomb your bathroom because he knew in the future you'd go apostate.

Right..? lol
