Re: Vogel Reviews Lars Nielsen's New Book
I greatly enjoyed the first installment, Dan. Great work. It is up to your usual high standard and rigor. I really appreciate you making these videos.

Vogel's review was like a pit bull shredding a skunk.
Thanks Dan.

I really wish ex/post Mormons wouldn't write books like this. It seems that Mr. Nielsen has become the mirror image of the Mopologists, same tactics, different conclusions.
I also really wish he would just stop. He is associated with David Nielsen, probably one of the most important whistle blowers in all of LDS history. If there were no David Nielsen, there would be no knowledge of how Ensign Peak Advisors conducts their business. Guilt by association is not legitimate...but people naturally make those kinds of conclusions.

Agreed. It is unfortunate. It is a bad book. Interesting, sure, but it is poorly conceived and poorly executed. I think the best description of it is “a curiosity.” It is like reading Abner Cole’s parodies of the Book of Mormon.Failed Prophecy wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 12:56 amI really wish ex/post Mormons wouldn't write books like this. Agreed.

You are responding to a quote from Donald Trump. Go lecture him.
"I have learned with what evils tyranny infects a state. For it frustrates all the virtues, robs freedom of its lofty mood, and opens a school of fawning and terror, inasmuch as it leaves matters not to the wisdom of the laws, but to the angry whim of those who are in authority.”

Hmm, not really meant as a lecture. I would say this to anyone. Your post/quote merely triggered me to post. Have a nice day.

Consider the speaker.
