Interesting take. Thanks man. I don't feel corrected. But I find it interesting.
Well, at least in this incarnation, you have found a keyboard with a Shift key. So, progress?

The anti-Mormon violence is also boggling my mind. From a professing Christian, no less.
Given the very recent, horrifying, and murderous attack against LDS folks, I am deeply troubled by some of the "Christian" responses I have seen in the last 24 hours.

Theological differences, no matter what they are - or who they are with - provide no excuse for such disgustingly abhorrent reactions.

Abominable.

Now that the spectre of Trans-association has been raised in the Charley Kirk shooting, should Dr. Peterson raise the issue of more BYU crackdowns on transubstantiation?

What about renaming Main Street in Orem to Charley Kirk Boulevard?

It’s unfortunate that those with extreme views that seem to overcome basic human decency seem to be those that get the attention. The normal and humane God fearing Christians then get pulled into all the controversies.

The aberrant behaviors of a few should not dictate how we respond/relate to good/honest people of any religious or non-religious stripe.

Quite the opposite. I am the stupidest and dumbest person on this forum and I make the most mistakes. We have established that over, and over, and over, and over and over and over again.

I completely agree. We have to stop trying to find what “team” these people are on. Right, left, Christian, Mormon. It doesn’t matter.

We used to ignore these people to try and suck the attention away from them. Now we are practically putting them on billboards. It’s the worst possible way to deal with it, making it a kind of sick twisted team sport.

In light of the recent Michigan killings, which were reportedly motivated by the killer's anti-Mormon sentiment, it may be time for the Mopologists to engage in some much-needed introspection regarding how their methods have contributed to and fueled the spread of anti-Mormonism.

In my opinion, DCP's public writings and postings have particularly fueled anti-Mormon sentiment. DCP's public postings are very contentious, sarcastic, dismissive, and his demeaning rhetorical style often involves publicly attacking various faiths, including Calvinism, Evangelicalism, Judaism, and Scientology, just to name a few. DCP's approach frequently features ad hominem attacks and hit pieces instead of charitable intellectual debate. Such a combative stance not only alienates other religious groups but also solidifies their opposition and contributes to an atmosphere of hostility. Given the tragic real-world consequences, I would like to call on DCP to conduct a close examination of how his aggressive, dismissive and demeaning Mopologetic style impacts public perceptions of Mormonism.

DCP, you can do better. You can be better. There is still time.
Hypothetically it would be far more likely that the person that committed the murders at the LDS church would be a member here, or listened to the rhetoric, than someone that listened to DCP. That is if what we are hearing turns out to be true about his hate for Mormon's.

I am not innocent in this for sure. I have said some very hateful things about LDS leaders, especially Joseph Smith, and monologists for sure. It was a wake up call for me for sure.

I would certainly love to see examples of your "charitable intellectual debate" Everybody Wang Chung.
