I've found that writing this stuff out is therapeutic. Even if you don't post it [like on your blog you can set entries to private] writing stuff out and articulating it, putting it on the screen, makes it real. Making something real is important I find, keeping it all bundled up in the brain just leads to crazyness where you ask: "Is that real? Am I just imagining these feelings? Surely not...they're real right?"

Admittingly you're in a less than ideal situation, and putting some stuff on a message board isn't the best thing in case someone decides to take it and tell your wife about it; but you can be free with your opinions, you just have to find the right outlets [friends, emails, private diaries, etc].

I've been told that I blog too much, but I haven't really done it in a long time. I can't get to my myspace page (the one everyone looks at), and no one looks at my blogger page, so why bother?

I've always wanted to write an autobiography (pen name! my family would sue...), or a "historical fiction" account of why our family is so messed up. But I get the most awful writer's block, I get but so far, and it just becomes too painful to continue. I hope to be able to press through that one day...

Give it whatever word you want, but in my view it was simply wrong to do what you did.

You're free to call me a jerk, and so forth. GoodK's father and I are still friends, and those who actually know me seem to like me. I take the opinions of people on this board about my character and personality for what they're worth.

I'm sure you're a fine person, but you made a big mistake when you forwarded GoodK's post to his dad -- just butt out of others' family affairs.

But, as you said, we suck it up because we understand that this is how our American society works. And I do come here to vent, just as you do. I've expressed these feelings before in different internet venues, and some helpful believer has always stepped in to tell me that if I don't like living in a country so dominated by religious belief, I should just move.

Sigh.

Let me know when you do, so I can go with you. I miss Europe. I'll clean your house if you let me live there...

Bond wonders if he should move into gramps' basement in Germany or Renegade's closet in England...

Well, everyone has a portion of who they are that they have to hide from someone else in order to maintain a civil society. Imposing your will onto others through state implementation, or institutional discrimination, or to a lesser degree butting into familial affairs is the difference. Until atheists succeed in cowing religionists to the degree religionists have cowed atheists I'm not sure the two can be equated in regards to their attempts to "push their agenda".

OMG, I'd so love to go to England. I finally got through the first season of the Tudors, though I'm pissed at what changes they did make in the actual historical happenings for the sake of time and "thrills". Margaret married into Scotland, not Portugal! Mary married into France! The kings that each woman married did not die by murder from the wife's hands, one was killed on Flodden Field (Margaret's) and one died of old age and too much sex (Mary's). That's exciting too!

Humph...

I just want to see all those castles, especially Hampton Court.
