Twice honored? Wow...it seems near impossible to contain the excitement.

I know you see it as some sort of badge of honor Wade, but you should be ashamed of that last statement.

I wonder what kind of truth he is talking about this time?

This guy cracks me up.

My Main Man,

You just took me from inexplicable bliss to profound depression. If ever I am diagnosed with bi-polar disorder, I will know who to blame. LOL

Thanks, -Wade Englund-

Were shame a concern to me, I wouldn't have spent so much time here. ;)

It's generous of you to condescend like that, but it doesn't change the fact you openly advocate for the insulation of religious beliefs against outside criticism.

From selek answering why the Mormon church doesn't portray head-in-hat pictures.

In reality- and despite the fact that certain categories of anti-Mormon and fool vomit up this same old chestnut with startling regularity- that Joseph Smith used a number of practices to translate- and varied them over time. That's why so many conflicting reports exist.

The actual method of translation, however, never varied. Joseph translated by the gift and power of the Holy Spirit.

He forgot to add... "out of his hat with a magic rock in it" at the end.
2 Tim 4:3 For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine.
2 Tim 4:4 They will turn their ears away from the truth & turn aside to myths

I don't think my comments can reasonably be interpreted to suggest anything of the sort--particularly since the thought never crossed my mind. And, my pro-active participation on this board and others, where criticism of and questions about my faith are the predominate subjectmatter, seriously mitigates against such an interpretation.

While this thread is intended to highlight supposed MAD and outlandish comments from LDS, it unintentionally and unwittingly tends to illustrate substantial comprehension challeges on the part of certain critics here--you not excluded.

So, we each in our own way get our respective chortles at the expense of the others, hopefully all in good fun.

Thanks, -Wade Englund-
