Bot has been caught lying so many times that he has no credibility to lose. He probably posts only to see who will be gullible enough, or inexperienced enough, to give his posts any credence at all. His accusations against beastie alone show he has no problem twisting the truth beyond all recognition. Discussing anything with him here is, in short, a waste of good time.

But its still fun to read that stuff all over again from time to time!
Zadok:
I did not have a faith crisis. I discovered that the Church was having a truth crisis.
Maksutov:
That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.

There's always this from the same thread. How many examples do you want?

I may not be entirely familiar with all of Quinn's books, but as far as I can tell he has never published at any academic publisher (except BYU) on any Mormon topic. He may indeed being a national expert on buggery, but he doesn't meet the usual qualifications as a historian if he hasn't published in academic journals.

The essays you cite, I don't know. Which ones are Mormon topics?

Does lying come that easy for you? You quoted and responded to Don!

All in the service of Mother Church huh Bob? You and your Latter Day situational-ethics are the height of moral relativism.

Or we could go here:

Yahoo Bot wrote:Until then, CES will be burdened with the mediocre, weak and effeminate who are not called to their positions, but volunteer. They can't function as IT experts, writers, accountants or high school teachers.

Thankfully, Jason quoted you before you edited that part out (and boy did you edit, 24 times in fact!). I like how you included effeminate along with weak and mediocre, you gay baiting coward.

Yahoo Bot wrote:And, yes, I do acknowledge that you are a person with a real name. Thank you. I retract my comment about your lack of moral courage. I certainly apologize for the offense given.

I’ll put it on my resume.

Great quotes indeed. Being effeminate is not gay. John McLay is obviously not gay.

I've certainly struck a nerve. Sorry. Not that there's anything wrong with it.

I like it when you point out the obvious as an escape from eating more shoe, but implicitly you meant gay while explicitly you posted as if being effeminate had negative connotations. Christ, no wonder you publish book review in FARMS and call it scholarship.

You made that comment to upset people, and then removed it later when that stick of jelly you call a spine collapsed under the weight of pixels.

Oh no, you're a cruel man to women like Liz or Beastie, but you become a house of cards the second you can't play the tired old moves like "the anonymous coward" or threaten to e-mail bishops about apostacy.

I would like to say he is a real credit to LDS apologists everywhere, but he really isn't.

However, his desire to draw such a distinction doesn't mean that his vehement opposition to various fantasies about Book of Mormon locations actually should be taken any more seriously.

Not quite. I don't think Book of Mormon students should advocate one way or the other for a particular geographic location for the Book of Mormon. Thomas Stuart Ferguson proved how futile that would be.

And thank God, because up to that point it was an open question as to whether trying to locate any of the places named in the Book of Mormon would be futile.
