He sent a copy to Nightlion, I think...and I am sure he could send you one, as well. I have a contract with Amazon that restricts me some. I need to find out what I can do personally. Don't worry...just prepare.

I would but Bret Ripley stikes me as a punk that thinks he has all the awnsers , so he needs to police the discussion.
You are a quick study. Usually people have to know me for much longer before they reach that conclusion.
Getting the information from him would be like inviting him to tell me what I think. I feel I've said to much at this point ... but that's my MO ... let the chips fall where they may.
Hey, no sweat, Mktavish. I don't mind if you think I'm a stuffed shirt, and I think it's cool that you feel free to say so.

If you read the whole story, you will have a better understanding of the subject matter presented. It's a little tedious going back and forth from Bible verse to interpretation in the digital format (Appendix). I'm sorry about that. Too bad I couldn't present it like it is in the bound book form...side by side verse by verse with two different ink colors. I didn't know how to do that. As far as I can tell Kindle doesn't allow it.

Can anyone seriously read every word when he goes into his descriptives?
It's me. You may not believe it.

No. It is a picturesque thing.

Mktavish wrote:But I would use skimming and speed reading to get to the guts of the story , which was all I was interested in.
Then Your pet genre is the comics. Sometimes - maybe, sith everybody can progress - You should try a crime story.

Don't do it. You can not.
Read only the balloons of comics.

My initial reaction is to be stubborn and insist that it is exegesis by plain ol' vanilla work-a-day exegesis. On the other hand my vanity is prepared to accept the mantle of "finesse" and run with it. If I owned a beret I should be sporting it at a rakish tilt.

(Aaaarghhh balloon I can not even quote)

Its funny you mention the comic book thing with balloons to give you the text of the story.
That is exactly the way I feel about reading Victor Hugo. He spends 1 1/2 pages describeing something then gives us a half a page of actual story.

Here is a little statistic:

Code: Select all

                        1.  (wiki)        2. (the book)
Pages:                        4                 1001
Paragraphs:                  44                51403
Lines:                      271                85009
Words:                     3554               553814
Characters:               17321              2582797
Characters with spaces:   20834              3094938

The 1. column is of wikipedia entry about Les Misérables, which fits to your reading abilities. - The story.
The 2. column is of the whole book. - The book as part of literature of the world.

That is, Victor Hugo wrote ~1000 times more than the story itself.
He didn't write it for you...
You should not read such thousands of unimportant pages.
