Its as if you are measuring the progress of blocks of cheese jumping in another dimension while in this world. "that cheddar jumps higher than that mozzarella so it has progressed more. If you have eyes to see after reading this book about cheeses and the maker of that other realm inspires you to care of this stuff, you too would know which cheese has progressed. This only works for those who have eyes to see. Everyone else is not worthy for our great maker to bother himself with. Eternally they shall regret their disbelief."
A spokesperson for the Church of Mozzarella Cheese (and Rice) disputes that statement, by pointing out that their millions of members confirm the grater (!) progress of mozzarella that is obvious to anyone who is properly sensitive, through prayer and study, to the supreme state of progress that dairy products can achieve.
Hah...thanks. I'm liking my analogy even more now. The arbitrary measure of cheese jumping in an imagined realm where cheese supposedly jumps is for some reason eternally significant to that block of cheese.

It makes me wonder how high Wade can jump. 3 feet? 4 feet? my goodness....I can't even imagine. he seems to know the arbitrary sounding spirit measure of every human, all being transmitted inside his own mind. I wonder how distinguishes the imagined great vertical he has with the hope he has for a great vertical leap? I'm guessing since my eyes haven't been made to see the things his mind is seeing, I'll never know.

But, Alma 32 does include falsification. See verse 32: "Therefore, if a seed groweth it is good, but if it groweth not, behold it is not good, therefore it is cast away."
So why are those who have tossed the seed away from the test, since obviously it is not good, always getting into trouble and pressured to endure to the end and stay on the Covenant Path, an obviously flawed idea, since the seed is bad, with the church and apologists?
And who is responsible for kind of soil the seed is placed in? I know I didn't pick the soil I landed in despite what Saturdays Warrior claims. The accumulation of genetic factors and the acre of soil I grew up around seems to indicate god wanted me to be atheist.

Here's another thought for your cheesy analogy.

When I was growing up in Scotland, my mother often sent me to the shops a few hundred yards (pre-decimalization & pre-metrication) away.

An item on my list might be "cheese": not "cheddar", not "mozzarella" - just "cheese".

My parents were not well educated, and not well traveled, and I have no idea how aware they were of the hundreds of varieties of cheese that existed, but as far as I can gather, our little local grocery store didn't stock anything other than cheddar. As a child I might have disputed that anything other than medium cheddar was real cheese, because that is all I knew. It didn't even require any indoctrination: this was the only cheese my family knew, and so was also the only one in which my family believed.

ETA: I have since been exposed to a wide variety of cheeses, and have found several that I like. But I'm still a fan of cheddar, albeit with a preference for old, strong cheese.

If I had grown up in France, for example, I expect I would have known a number of different cheeses, and suspect that, even as an older person, my favourite might be one I was exposed to as a child.

The one true cheese on earth is gouda. Pray, search your feelings Luke. You know it to be true.

Good show. I see the analogy can be extended and treated in all sorts of ways, pertaining to Mormonism.

Good question. You can find part of the answer in vs 38 and 39 of Alma 32.

As intimated earlier, critics often fail to realize that there are actually two things being tested: beliefs and believers. Both are the seeds and plants in question. It is fascinating how, when believers eventually flunk the test of spiritual faith, and drop out, it is not uncommon for them to mistakenly fault the spiritual beliefs. In fact, it is not uncommon for those who have flunked the tests and dropped out, to give lectures on matters of spiritual faith to those who continue to pass and who have excelled in spiritual faith and have even reached the top of the class (like Bednar). It truly is a marvel. ;)

It is also not uncommon for those who continue to pass the test of spiritual faith, and who have tasted the delicious fruit thereof, to want to encourage those who have flunked and dropped out, in hopes that they will try again for their own benefit, These faithful believers do so realizing that the dropouts may have already joined the path of the Great and Spacious Building, and aren't likely to be enticed by the spiritual fruit being offered. But, the worth of the souls of the dropouts is great, and warrants the try.

Being lectured by a dopey Mormon on spirituality is akin to being lectured by an ancient astronaut theorist on history. The above is just pure hubristic BS written by a small man. The top-down egoism of the Mormon hierarchy is on full display right now.
