You made no mention of your good companion in your opening post. You drug him out later as a Deus ex machina to try and salvage your contradicting story. And then edited other posts to fit your new narrative.
You are clearly so smart! Is that what you want to hear? Is that why you Google smart things to say and then put them in italics? Praise be unto thee, angel Gabriel, thou super-smart but overly pretentious wizard.
I don’t know whether you are aware, but I do not have to mention every event, every person, every place, every investigator, every meal, nor every time I took a crap in order for my story to be truthful. But go on with the deus ex monocle act.
How was your mission, by the way?
Get off your knees, Nolan. I am unworthy of your praise.
But since you ask, I went to the Japan Sendai Mission. Qualitatively, if not in the details, my mission experience was similar to what you say yours was. The countryside was beautiful and the people treated us better than we deserved. That's all you get. I'm doing ok and I sincerely hope that you and your good and bad companions are doing ok. Thank you for posting. It's been a pleasure.
Nolan, have you considered that you were the bad companion to everyone that you served with?
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.
We were treated like rock stars everywhere we went. It was still hell. I'm generally happy with my life but thinking about my mission always makes me sad.
Why would you need to "still hope" a friend is ok when you speak to him regularly? Couldn't you just ask him?
And how, after decades of a regular friendship, do you still not know what he was going through?
If he made your life hell while you were together as missionaries, he must do the same when you are together now as friends. Or is your relationship with him less real now?
Try to keep up, Marc, or don’t. I don’t really care.

Yeah that seems to be common in Utah. I remember visiting family there and every time they saw “the missionaries” everyone would flip out like they just saw Elvis or Bruno Mars.

Jeezus, finally you just act like a normal person. Japan sounds so awesome, I want to visit sometime.

I realized, in those four minutes, that I was thinking deeply about a companion from Norway who was the only good companion I had. So good, I wanted to also learn his native language (I thought the gift of tongues was real and wanted to take advantage of it). I typed Norwegian instead of Netherlands.
I hang my head in ultimate shame and unworthiness, I prostrate myself before you and beg for your forgiveness.
I await your apology. And I’ll repeat the question - Nolan, have you considered that you were the bad companion to everyone that you served with?

You get nothing. I wrote in a human way and exaggerated a bit like everyone does.
Now tell me, since this is my thread: how was your mission?

What do you consider to be a bad companion? It's unusual to have all bad comps except for one. I only had one comp I couldn't get along with but wouldn't say he was "bad". I can't recall any missionary in my mission that I'd consider "bad" in fact.
