I don't know how this thread turned into the defense of atheism, but it seems typical.

Jason, if you want to talk about Hitler, Stalin, and sources of restraint and morality, please do yourself a favor and visit http://richarddawkins.net/archive,page1 ... ate-Points first.

A good collection of debate points that address these very issues.

You can't find something from intelligent people? I have a justifiably low opinion of Dawkins' groupies.

Really? The average IQ of a Dawkins' groupie is much higher than that of an average MAD participant.

The better option, of course, would be to read the God Delusion and Moral Minds, but I have a feeling that Jason is not going to want to do that.

MAD? Is that the Mormon apologetics board? In any event, I have read The God Delusion [sic] and I found Dawkins' arguments against classical theism to be pedestrian at best.

Yes, but you believe in an imaginary invisible sky daddy. You've demonstrated a few times you don't really understand his arguments. What more needs to be said?

Yes.

I get your subtle hint. The fact that I do not strictly adhere to the MLA style on an informal message board is undeniable proof of my stupidity.

So you just found his arguments against classical theism pedestrian? As opposed to his arguments against polytheism, which were good? I kind of thought he was arguing against the existence of supernatural deities per se.

Jason Bourne wrote:Well gee. Let's examine all the atrocities that dictators that were atheists, such as Stalin, perpetrated on the world. I suspect that the millions he killed were a few more then the JWs that die because of their religious belief. Sorry man, but adhernets to atheism has posed more threat and perpetrated more death on man kind then religion has, by far.

I'd say that's political extremism Jason, not religious extremism.

A new JW/blood transfusion story.

This dude has some serious faith! Check out the pic. It's horrendous.

Jose Maestre, 51, of Lisbon, Portugal, was first stricken with a facial tumor at age 14. His religious beliefs have kept him from undergoing surgery. The tumor is now 15 inches long and weighs 12 pounds, according to a report in the Daily Telegraph of London.
WK: "Joseph Smith asserted that the Book of Mormon peoples were the original inhabitants of the americas"
Will Schryver: "No, he didn’t." 3/19/08
Still waiting for Will to back this up...

Wow. Now there's a guys who's not just paying his religion lip service. He's got no choice but to face his tumor. At least he's keeping a stiff upper lip... oh wait... make that lower lip.
