Being called a fibber might sting for anyone, but I don’t think doubling down by questioning someone’s family life is helpful.

It's also worth pointing out that God is not going to hold anybody accountable for anything because there is no such thing as God. So everything Everybody Wang Chung is saying he's getting away with Scott free. It's also worth pointing out the "brethren" are bureaucrats. They are no more holy or deserving of respect than the board members of a beer company. They deserve to be made fun of just as many self-important people in power deserve to be made fun of.
That says it all, right there. Everything else you said was just fluff.

You might argue that you really mean everything you say about Nelson, he's your prophet and you cherish him deeply. I don't buy it for a second.
On this very thread you brought our attention to Nelson’s counsel for members to be kind in their interactions, to be peacemakers. And yet you do the opposite. You are unkind and seek to find division. You frequently “out” yourself as a cheap little troll, but this thread is one of the more obvious examples.
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

Mentalgymnast has disparaged and stereotyped people here and called them ugly names for many, many years. His forté is expressing an 'opinion,' and then explaining that the reason someone has a different 'opinion' is that something is wrong with them. He never has specifics, just very ugly innuendo. In my opinion, he is just a troll, and he's found a setting here where he can pretend to be a devout Mormon, and then use that position to disrupt and provoke. He is incredibly dishonest and breaks rules repeatedly just to get a response. Everybody Wang Chung calling him a fibber is just a mild attempt to call out his antics for what they are. If MG talked to people like this in real life he would be summarily dismissed, in fact, he wouldn't survive anywhere else on the internet even, but he's landed here because the rules here are extraordinarily tolerant of the intolerant.

He once suggested that members with doubts about their faith were spiritually autistic. He stands by that description for people to this day. He does so simply to troll.

Fibber MG wrote: Someday you will be accountable for your words. Mark my word. I would imagine that a gradual slide towards criticism of the Brethren here, and a little here and there led to your apostasy and ease in which you mock the Brethren. And you claimed to be Bishop? And you made some other claims that weren't true. You are a liar.

And, most importantly, you seem to have no shame when you do what you do. I wonder how this seeps into your marriage, assuming that you still are married.

Fibber,

While I appreciate your concern for my eternal well-being, and I know it comes from a place of love and concern, I can assure you that my words are carefully considered. The gradual slide you speak of was less of an apostasy and more of a conscious decision to value transparency over blind obedience. As for my past claims, I stand by them. My bishopric was an experience, and those who served with me know the truth, as do several people here that know me in real life. It seems your definition of "truth" and mine have parted ways, substantially.
When you say, "value transparency over blind obedience", and that this happened over time...do you feel comfortable going into any more detail on that?

I find it fascinating that you've managed to connect my online commentary to the state of my marriage.
The fact that you have been caught in a lie a couple of times in reference to what you know about me caused a question to arise in my mind as to how this might affect other areas of your life.
Everybody Wang Chung wrote:

My lack of shame, as you put it, is simply a reflection of my comfort in speaking my mind.
Again, I am responding directly to your preponderancy to let a lie slip here and there.

It's a skill I've honed over many years. Perhaps you could learn a thing or two from my unapologetic approach.
No thanks.

Fibber, if a deity is indeed keeping a tally, I'm quite confident that my commitment to candor and a little lightheartedness will be seen in a more favorable light than your constant personal attacks, lies, disgusting behavior and unchristian treatment of your brothers and sisters here.
We will have to wait and see, won't we? I disagree with your characterization, but be that as it may. I would be more concerned with the the fact that you mock those things which you once held to be true.

Again, that's some great missionary work, Fibber.
Thanks!!

There will of course be conflict when two opposing forces buck up against each other. And we will each come away with a different view of what is transpiring.

You, of course, are free to express your opinion. I happen to disagree with everything you've said. It's easy to make stuff up and inflate things to the point that you see a monster around every corner. I understand that you are going to see things MUCH differently than I do. Two opposing forces are going to push against each other with a certain degree of friction. That results in heat.

I do believe that there are various degrees of 'receptivity' to those things that we refer to as spiritual. I've compared it to various wavelengths of light found on a spectrum, yes.

Fibber's behavior is disingenuous. He has been unable to find a single person in this community who considers him honest. While he claims to engage with 'investigators' and 'lurkers,' one such individual, Limnor, has stated that he feels 'pity' for Fibber, which completely undermines his stated purpose.

I do feel some sympathy for Fibber. His home life is not good and maybe this board offers him some comfort and solace in some strange way. I really do home his family life improves. I wouldn't wish his current situation on anyone.
