Self-taught tech professional. I took a programming class in high school (punch cards at the time). Eventually I taught myself to program, took on sys admin duties, application integration, business analyst, director of IT. Quit the SLC Mormon business world, to work for a non-profit org that I am fond of, and now do sys/app admin work. I like what I do, a lot. Always have.
I've gone to a community college on and off over the years, and decided I'm sick of going to school, so I'm pumping it up to get a BS in Business Management Technology. I should finish in about a year or so (maybe a little longer). After that, I'm so done with school.
There is no way I could work full time, go to school full time and be a mom while having to sit through hours and hours of lectures. I discovered the miracle of online classes.
I'm transferring to a Jesuit university this fall.
Being a Christian is not the result of an ethical choice or a lofty idea, but the encounter with an event, a person, which gives life a new horizon and a decisive direction -Pope Benedict XVI
