just me wrote:Our whole eternal life hangs upon if we ignore all evidence to the contrary and just believe what we are told by other fallible humans. That seems just, fair and reasonable.
How are we supposed to figure out which fallible humans are correct?
What a weird way to view it. As it is I don't think "our whole eternal life hangs upon if we ignore the evidence to the contrary and just believe what we are told by other fallible humans".
Just settle down a little. The important things are to learn to love others, embrace the notion of joining together in unity combatting evil designs and enjoying the true concept of love. If ya get that kind of thing down, then perhaps you'll begin to see our whole eternal life hangs far more upon our ability to love than our ability to trust whether someone is telling us the truth about some random topic or bit of history.
Why do you read anger and unsettle where there is none? What a weird way to view others comments.
Again, what you are telling me is the important thing in life or the way to eternal life or salvation is the opinion of a fallible human being. Why should I believe you or have faith in your opinion? How is it fair or just for my eternal salvation to depend on believing you or any other human being?
Also, would you be so kind as to answer my other question. I'd like a list of the propositions that the church stands or falls on. Thanks.

You really think that's what Mormonism is all about? It sounds like mainstream Christianity.

huh? I said our eternal destiny is very much dependent on our ability to love, far more than what Just me claimed. Neither of us said anything about what Mormonism is about.

Spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ is responsible for destroying cultures. That's lousy.

If you're settled then cool. No big deal. Tkae it or leave it.

You don't have to rely on me at all. I'm just giving ideas. You see, you seem like you don't want to be a part of the LDS Church, I'm merely offering the next best thing if that's your choice. of coruse that's my opinion. Don't just blindly accept it. Give it a try, maybe....Go with it and see how it works for you. Or...complain you can't quite see what its all about.

Sorry. I'm not so certain on many of these things myself. I don't know if its completely clear cut and it perhaps changes for different people.

Man. I try to respond to Just me about what she should consider as etnerally important and suddenly I am describing what the Church is about. Now I try to give a brief idea of what Mormonism is about, in a brevity sense, and suddenly I'm describing what Mormonism is all about. I don't even think you'll listen to much of anything fromme. Have fun.

I wouldn't suggest its best to destroy cultures but there are losses in nearly everything we do. You weigh it all in the balance. In the end, I think spreading the gospel provides more pluses then minus'.

Actually, it is very condescending. Is that why you do it?

Can I live with Elohim and Jehovah and have eternal life if I don't have the LDS ordinances all complete and accepted at some point?

Why did you make the claim if you can't back it up? That doesn't even make any sense.

That is because you feel your beliefs and cultural norms, laws and values (commandments) are superior to all others. You may feel differently if you were the one being killed for not accepting Jesus (history) or have your culture stripped from you through your people accepting the Jesus message.

Not really. I"m just a happy person that is confused by the tones I see, so I comment in hopes some will switch it up. But if it doesn't work for you, no biggie. I don't intend to be condescending. I can see how it comes off that way. Sorry.

Mormonism teaches that you'll have all the ordinances complete at some point.

I don't see the problem here. There are plenty of claims made by the Church. I know some are very central and some are not. I also realize that the Church may fall in some people's eyes due to some of the claims. I do not suppose to know which ones, if they are proven untrue, will cause the collapse per se. I just realize if some are proven untrue the Church will continue.

Not true at all.

I don't feel that way to begin with. You've misunderstood me and have attempted to define me as something I'm not. That's weird.
