The irony of criticizing a man who makes his living fighting a trillion dollar nepotistic non-prophet corporation... because he made 6 figures... is just too much for me.

I have never listened to anything John Dehlin, ever.
Dehlin has gotten very good at doing compelling interviews of people leaving Mormonism. So good, that the Strengthening Committee has elicited the guerilla war underbelly of the Church to begin kamikaze attacks on John Dehlin.

Do you not get it? If JP proves that John Dehlin is guilty of this mistamina, it logically follows that he must be guilty of everything that Rosebud said he did and that KK says he does... oh and everything that Midnight Muppets say must be true by inductive reasoning too.

If the Book of Mormon is true, then what does that tell you about Joseph Smith being a prophet? and all that?
Nope, pistolero. That ain't it, gunslinger. That is exactly not it, and we are going to settle this in the streets this time.

jpatterson is saying that because John Dehlin is not making public the information that the AG and IRS told JPatterson was nunna his business, that you (pistolero and Kishkumen particularly) are projecting your dungeon fetish for Daniel C. Peterson.

He also said that JDehlin who is a scoundrel, should also do an IPO and be the CEO of a public company that does podcasts. You really really truly can't make this up.
Clearly my sarcasm wasted here. My position is that I doubt JPs benevolence to society by outing such a dishonest person stealing from the sacred purse of the IRS.

Also, you mention a "dungeon fetish" that I and Kishkumen have for someone. If you search through all of my posts, you will never find a single reference to the person that you suggest. Just sayin''...

This is actually the exact logic folks use to discredit the church. If the Book of Mormon is made up, then Joseph Smith is full of it and Mormonism is a fraud.
I was just quoting the old pink missionary handbook. Again, a large amount of sarcasm intended... wasted on Americans.
jpatterson wrote: Now, I wouldn't go to that extreme with John, but if it turns out he is dishonest about his finances, that certainly damages his credibility. Does it not? I realize you're using hyperbole with the Rosebud example (and I have made no such claim that the one proves the other) but your logic absolutely applies here, albeit unintentionally.
I've been fined by the equivalent of the IRS in my country of residence. However, I don't consider myself to be particularly more dishonest than the next man. I blame the complexity of the tax code. I acted to minimise my tax burden based on my understanding of the rules, given advice by accountants and lawyers. I received approx a $400 fine and paid in full - and learned my lesson.

I interpret JD as doing something similar. As far as I can tell, he's quite transparent with his set up. Surely he will try and cut corners etc... That's life, why pay more tax than necessary? If he's done this and it's against the regs, then he will pay a fine and correct his behaviour.

I can only interpret your behaviour as a) benevolence to society and the public purse OR b) some grudge against Open Stories Foundation and their founder.

If a), I'd expect to see your crusade against other organisations. But b) seems a more likely conclusion from my standpoint... and the root of my sarcasm.

Maybe I'm just projecting. I feel that I have been wronged by someone with responsibility in local government. I can't stand this person. I hate them, I despise them. They have victimised someone who I love and care for immensely. It's been like this for some 9 months now and I can't sleep at night, I feel anxiety, I just constantly think of ways in which I can shaft this person some home. It's extremely unhealthy and I'm seeking help. It's bizarre, I can't deal with it. Just a side note.

I don't have a dog in this fight. It's just weird that you would claim that John doesn't want to pay taxes, when you're now reversing yourself and saying you knew all along that he does. Why would you claim this if you actually know how it works?

"And there's no way in hell John is going to start paying taxes now that he's enjoyed the sweet, sweet nectar of tax-exempt revenue."
You can’t seriously be this obtuse.

John doesn’t want to pay taxes ON THE DONATIONS HE RECEIVES as business revenue (although he could go the S-corp route but he would still have to pay self-employment tax).

He also has a vested interest in the donations he receives being tax exempt, as he has several very high-paying donors who want the ability to write off their donations. If he turns MSP into, say, an S-corp, he not only pays self-employment taxes, his donors can’t write off their donations.
Yes...we know you don't like the guy. Why are you just complaining to complain now? Nothing you type has any bearing on whether he's doing something illegal or immoral (whatever you base your morals on). Talk about obtuse.

To quote John Larsen. Mormons can be Dicks. But exmormons take it to an entire different level". Butchered of course. But true.
Lol...yeah it's a good line.

Someone is projecting their frustrations with DCP again. Deep breaths, Kish. He can’t hurt you.
Wow, what a clueless person you are.

Sparky shows up here to crow about his great achievements of unleashing the IRS on John Dehlin, and he thinks I have a beef with DCP.

Feel free to write DCP and ask him yourself, Sparky.

jpatt,

Kish and DCP are friends and have been for years.

You could say that their relationship is tight like unto a dish.

Frankly I am surprised my buddy DCP is not blogging right now to set the record straight!
