I would like to point out that the Mopologist geniuses who love to point out how dimwitted or stupid others are once again fail at basic reading comprehension and, most importantly, understanding their own doctrine. I said the following:
And I would like to point out that your interpretation of it was very poor. You need to do a better job at it if you wish to call it accurate.
There is nothing undoctrinal or crass in that statement. I said nothing about sex. I said nothing about having sex all day long. I simply stated, straightforward, what Mormons believe.
Yes, I went back and reread that statement. You didn't say all-day-long. But you did fail to be accurate according to the interpretation. But let's look at the rest of your post first.
2) Polygamy is an eternal Mormon doctrine. This is beyond refutation. A Mormon god must have multiple wives in order to attain eternal progression.
No, this is incorrect. A person must understand the justice and reason behind polygamy. It is important to look at alternative meanings when you interpret what the prophets say so... fundamentalistly.
3) The Mormon god lives on a planet with his wives. This is indisputable Mormon doctrine. They make babies. This is indisputable Mormon doctrine. To deny either one of these basic tenets of the Brighamite Mormon faith makes you an apostate.
Again, one doesn't
know that he does have more than one wife, so it's not a good idea to assume. He lives on a planet - yes, that is true. But having multiple wives - Brigham said he possibly could, but didn't necessarily have to.
4) Faithful Mormons, do indeed, believe they can become gods and goddesses who live on a planet, and make babies.
Nevertheless, you didn't mention goddesses in your statement. And 'make babies' gives it a negative connotation. The more correct connotation is 'to have children'. The new spirits are not thought of as 'babies', they are thought of as 'children'.
Now let's look at your statement.
[quote]These people actually believe in a man-god that lives on a planet with his polygamous wives making babies. For eternity. And they believe
they can become just like him.[/quote
Your statement uses 'distance' words to try and alienate the people it is referring to. It implies that they are weird, and will always be weird, and their ideas will always be ridiculous. Furthermore, you call it a 'man-god' which is demeaning to him, and fails to mention that his wife is a Goddess. You include polygamous wives without any evidence thereof. Then you use making babies like it is 'a chore', which it is not. Finally, you leave out any mention of the happiness and glory they have, which gives an improper portrayal of how it is.
That's why I think your statement is inaccurate. Sorry if I'm a pain in the butt over it, but it IS inaccurate.
