Kwaku just used this person from the 1600's (John Dee) to justify the seer stone:
This black spirit mirror and other magical objects are thought to have been owned by John Dee (1527–1608/9), the Elizabethan magician, astrologer and mathematician. The mirror was used as a ‘shew-stone’ – one of many polished and lustrous things used by Dee to carry out his occult research into the world of spirits. Dee worked with the medium and convicted criminal, Edward Kelley, to summon visions of angels into the mirror’s reflective surface. The two men held séances in England and on the Continent between 1583 and 1589.

The mirror, made of obsidian (volcanic glass), was brought from Mexico to Europe between 1527 and 1530 after Hernando Cortés’s conquest of the region. Mirrors were used by Aztec priests to conjure visions and make prophesies. They were connected with Tezcatlipoca, god of obsidian and sorcery, whose name can be translated from the Nahuatl language as 'Smoking Mirror’.

Consig is easy to listen to because he blends knowledge with presentation well. I had to turn off the broadcast when the three blind mice started talking. Oof. Embarrassed for them.

It's interesting hearing the Midnight Mormons essentially reduce Mormonism to just the correct side in their hypothetical culture war.

They've completely ignored Mormonism's truth claims and focused entirely on Mormonism's conservatism, anti-liberalism, anti-abortionism, etc.

kwaku on poligamy: None of us were there so no judgment allowed?

Answer: None of us were there during the Jim Jones incident so we can't judge?
Myth is misused by the powerful to subjugate the masses all too often.

Gotta rely on emotion because that is really all they have.

Did I understand him correctly that he was saying he was the most authoritative there on the topic of polygamy because he was only one generation removed from the reality?

I hope that Brad's missus is watching. Sounds like he's up for a bit of polygamy.

Three males defending the church's practice of polygamy. Nothing else encapsulates the church's approach to its defense of anything which devalues women in its structure than having those three parrot this same old nonsense.

"Unless you have knowledge of marriage in Ancient Sumeria then you can't comment on Mormon polygamy."
