Gee... You're not upset, are you MG? By the way: I'm still waiting for you to explain how Tal's postings constituted a "besmirch" on Pres. Keyes's character. Waiting, oh waiting, for you to offer up an explanation.

From the OP by Julianne at MADB:

It’s me, President Randy Keyes. Someone brought to my attention that you have been purporting to quote me on the web. I read your comments about the talk we had five years ago on a message board post you made on April 17, 2008. I was surprised at how you reported things I never said, as if I had said them.

There are two possibilities here, which should be rather obvious, even to Scratch and Trevor: either this SP is being intellectually dishonest in his version of events, or "Tall Tales Bachman" has struck again (hat tip to DCP).

Just a spoonful of sugar...

Nice save on the edit, Bob.

Come on, Trevor. Ms. Scratch is clearly, clearly, CLEARLY straining at a gnat here.

Yes, but Trevor's own animus against the Church and its faithful members will require him to fold, spindle, and mutilate the gnat once Scratch has finished straining it in a most unsavory manner.

Well, I am glad you engaged me in writing up my interpretation of the events, since you have thoroughly ignored it. Perhaps it was too subtle for you.

Mark this ladies and gentlemen. Does this statement match Scratch's track record?

Just asking.

Classic Ms. Scratch right here. When backed into a corner accuse the other of becoming "upset."

That is true, but he did push your button in a major way the other day. Never let them see you sweat.

Yeah. I got my "butt kicked." Totally. After citing examples of people blind submitting articles to the FARMS Review, which flew in the face of her theories. That's when the butt kicking occurred.

"Stake Pres. Ditches Ethics to Smear Tal B."

So, as we see, while Scratch browbeats mentalgymnast on Tal's "besmirch" of Pres. Keys, Scratch himself had already come to a conclusion and taken a position on who is lying and who is not at the outset.

This is absolutely and unutterable amazing.

LOL!!!

When I was still a faithful member of the LDS Church, what irritated me was the sheer stupidity of some of its apologists. My motivation really has not changed. I do not imagine, as you do, that false beliefs can be so easily torn apart, and I am not eager to destroy Mormonism. How arrogant it would be to believe I could. You may think you need to protect Mormonism, and arrogantly imagine that you are just the man for the job, when in reality you are a base hack in need of a political blog for half-baked ideologues that will tolerate you, but Mormonism will get along just fine without you.

Trevor, I don't care what you think of coggins overall, this particular post of his is completely lucid, rational and accurate. I am reading this thread in complete and utter wonderment. Almost disbelief. I am literally fighting off doubts that Ms. Scratch is a real person and not some weirdo getting her kicks.

Of course...

My motivation really has not changed.

I see that quite clearly

I do not imagine, as you do, that false beliefs can be so easily torn apart,

Nether do I. However, logically, if Joseph's experiences were fabrications, than the Church is nonsense from stem to stern.

and I am not eager to destroy Mormonism.

Your pants are smoking Trevor, and where there's smoke...

You may think you need to protect Mormonism,

I'm defending it, not protecting it.

and arrogantly imagine that you are just the man for the job, when in reality you are a base hack in need of a political blog for half-baked ideologues that will tolerate you, but it will get along just fine without you.

Who's up for a good game of "Smear the Queer?" [in the old sense of the word]
