You what??? Sex is a huge step, it should mean commitment. in my opinion, I think it shouldn't be given away and thrown about like a dog bone. Sure people can decide when they think and feel they are responsible, but it is still a hige step that should be thought through carefully, something that should be taken seriously and treated with maturity and respect.

Anyone can get free condoms these days. The only thing that parents must be notified for is when young teenagers want to have abortions, but that is like below 16 or something.
The Emergancy Hormonal Pill can be prescribed on the NHS. But they would have to see their GP first, or otherwise pay. Teenagers can be put on the pill without parental consent.

Look, I didn't mean to imply in my post that it was impossible to get birth control as a teenager. I know it is possible, but religious right wing wacko's are trying to make it difficult or impossible for a teenager to get birth control. Regarding 11 and 12 year olds, they shouldn't even know what sex is. The media plants seeds in young people these days to manipulate their brains. Peer pressure makes people as young as 7 think they have to have sex. I am not joking. It is bad. There are people quatre my age that teach me things by the way they talk.

Right, it's the media's fault. Evil Hollywood, buys televisions with cable and a TiVo box, installs them in the homes of innocent families, and forces the children to watch "seeds that manipulate their brains" into having sex. It's Hollywood's fault.

I do not believe that a 12 would have shown such a thing when I was 12, nor would a 15 have. So yes the world has changed and each generation does get worse.

There is very little that can be done to avoid children knowing things, especially with the education system in school. I was shown by a nurse in a lesson how to put a condom on a dildo.

Come on, if someone murders someone are they responsible, if someone steals are they responsible? if someon brings a life into this world are they responsible? If someone has sex knowing it could get them pregnant, are they responsible? Of course they are. If someone is of sexual maturity and have knowledge of sex and are acting in that manner, they should accept responsibility. They are respnsible. I agree that irresponsible people should take responsibility and use contraception. But if they don't then they should take responsibility for that also.

The main problem that I see here, GoodK, is that your thinking is off the deep end. You are mixing up so many issues and attaching them to religion and some sort of persecution complex that I can't relate to.

The proper term for "kids" is "children". What you are attempting to forward here that children have some sort of "right" to have sex when what it is, is simply an unchecked lack of self control. You think that children should be able to have sex and provided with birth control as if there is some sort of condom god in the sky raining condoms down on them.

I am paying for this so called "free" birth control that you would like to see passed out to children who have no source of income, pay no health insurance premiums, probably haven't paid for the car they're screwing in OR the gas to run it, and when children screw up their b/c methods, I am footing the bill for their prenatal health care, their child's health care and whatever assistance (food stamps, subsidized child care to name a few items) they're getting.

Nothing is "free", GoodK. Just because children aren't paying for it, doesn't mean it's not being paid for.

Why would i care about the rich? I don't. Your response to me is off target. I respect those with self-made money, but it's not that I care about them. And I'm not rich. My point is that it's very unlikely one will ever accomplish much to better their lives or the lives of their family through legislation. Through voting for the right people. There are those rare exceptions I admit, and there are those revolutionary times and all, but in general, one can have more control over their life and power to help their family by simply making more money.

Oh, and if let's say, we gave all the poor people in the world a middle-class house, car and GDP required for lifestyle, well, we'd really have depleted all the earths resources and goodbye dolphins for sure.

The way I see it, the problems of the world probably aren't solvable, and humanity will eventually wipe itself out along with the majority of nature. All the voting in the world won't fix it.
