Chap wrote:Kevin, I feel I should mention that a number of us are quite disturbed by your failure to respond to Wade Englund's generous offer to help you with faith issues, on a thread he has created for that specific purpose.
I for one feel that your chilling failure to seize with both hands this opportunity to be helped by such an experienced and sensitive spiritual guide calls in question your entire character, not just your sincerity as a seeker after truth.
If he doesn’t contact you after that, what more can be done? But you will just stay there, waiting, miaowling and occasionally scratching at the door ....
Zadok: I did not have a faith crisis. I discovered that the Church was having a truth crisis. Maksutov: That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.

There is more that might be done. However, your comment should suffice. If Kevin doesn't show up on this thread in the next 24 hours, I will consider it a tacit rejection of my request and be on my merry way.
In the interim, the good folks here are free to add another 8 or 9 pages of vigorous though tangential verbal gesticulations to this thread--like the following:
But you will just stay there, waiting, miaowling and occasionally scratching at the door ....

Since this thread isn't directed to "most people," and given the context of Kevin's stated wish (as a former believer in the restored gospel), and given that I am coming from the perspective of the restored gospel, then in this specific case it wouldn't make sense on a number of levels to treat them separately.
Thanks, -Wade Englund-
Well then, you are not concerned with Kevin's faith in God, merely his faith in Mormonism. Thanks for clearing that up.

You seem to be contradicting your OP.

Like I said, you are free to read into my comments whatever you wish. For my part, I don't intend to say anything further on this tangent. I will let you have the last word.
Thanks, -Wade Englund-

Anyone with half a brain in their head and a basic familiarity with your history would not believe for one nanosecond that you truly just want to "help". You've consistently use the pretense of "helping" to cloak attacking people.
Remember when you tried to "help" gay people by classifying homosexuality with bestiality, pedophilia, and necrophilia? Remember when you tried to "help" people committing logical fallacies by creating a website making fun of them? Remember when you tried to "help" people who had lost faith in the church by telling them they were fundamentalist thinkers, or psychologically damaged? Remember when you tried to "help" people by mirroring their "bad behavior" - ie, attacking them?
EA summed it up quite nicely earlier on this thread. Your problem is that you enjoy attacking people, you enjoy the dirty fighting, but you can't admit it to yourself, so you create this fantasy wherein you're just trying to "help".
I hope you're at least fooling yourself with this game, because I doubt you're fooling anyone else who knows your posting history.
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.
Look folks, I'm doing my best to help Wade prove he's not a disingenuous, passive-aggressive coward. I've started a thread to help him engage in a thriving reason-based world view like he says he wants to have. But he still has not joined in that thread.
Lucky for Wade that I am patient, as well as optimistic. I'm sure he won't try to claim victory by Kevin's non-response, while not allowing the same conclusion regarding his non-response to me.
Wade-boy can't claim any victories in this thread. He failed to help Kevin. He failed to answer Darth. He failed to defend the Explanations of Facsimile No. 3 which everyone in the whole world (outside of the Mormon cult) knows they are utterly untrue, uninspired, and unEgyptian .
The prophet Joseph Smith has been proven to be a liar and a cheat. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints prides itself in spreading lies and publishing false statements about sacred things pertaining to the ancient Egyptians. For shame!
