LDST..the reason one is not supposed to divulge pm's is because they can be doctored/misrepresented and/or they can negatively impact someone's real life.

You fail to answer the question.

But, since you brought it up, perhaps you'd like to show me where I misrepresented the content of the PMs which I have posted. What have I said in the past that disagrees with the content of Jersey Girl's PMs?

marg wrote:Jersey Girl was essentially forced to give you permission to put the pm's on the board because you were discussing them anyhow.. in your own words.

Once again you have a double standard and you are creating much ado about nothing.

Let me make this really simple - I was given permission. You were not. The only way you would know anything about [personal information deleted] is either participation in chat or private conversations. If Jersey Girl did not give you permission to talk about [personal information deleted] (you know, in your own words, possibly misrepresenting or maligning her) then you are in violation of board rules.

So here is my question: If Jersey Girl says [personal information deleted] is a private matter, will you agree to remove the post you made about the details of [personal information deleted]?

Jeez Marg,

Why not just delete it?

I follow along pretty regularly, and reading your post was the first time I had ever heard of [personal information deleted].

You are arguing apples and oranges. It can't hurt at all to delete it.

Really.

Jersey Girl has given permission to share that in other contexts. Since Liz is in communication for her, I'll wait for clarification on whether or not she wants it removed since that's what we did in a recent similar situation. If she does, I'll be happy to remove it if Marg doesn't want to. If I were you marg, I'd edit it out of your posts, save it in a word file, then edit it back in once you have explicit permission.

I don't really have a dog in this fight other than I enjoy this board ALOT, and saw this fracus unfold.

I have to say that I must agree with EA, and Shades on the ban.

There just seems to be alot of backpeddling, and reinterpreting of intent on Jersey Girl's part.

It reminds me too much of Mormon Doctrines.

The mods have been chosen/invited to do this for a reason. Mostly because they are not ones to pull the trigger too quick. Then, when they do, they get their heads bitten off.

For what it is worth, I say let the ban stand.

I have been very busy with a work project, and have not had a lot of time for the board lately. I am going to post Jersey Girl's responses to the posts here.

I will be making my own comments concerning this later this evening, or tomorrow, when I have time:

Jersey Girl wrote:So yeah, Shades has apparently transformed one of the threads into a "mega" thread wherein the thread title appears in all CAPS no less and posted a statement in which he repeats the same "points" to which I will not respond here because they have already been addressed first in the statement which was emailed to him and multiple times on this board.

Take a gander at this:

Quote:
Which is the real Jersey Girl? The Jersey Girl when she's in full-on "Jersey Mode," or the Jersey Girl when she's in "Oh crap, I never thought Shades would actually defend himself; I'd better cook up some lame-ass excuses A.S.A.P. to save my ass from getting banned" mode? Some here seem to believe that the latter is the real Jersey Girl. I believe that the former is the real Jersey Girl.

Save my ass from getting banned?

When I was banned I said nothing publicly for approx. 2 weeks until the issue was raised on this board.

I believe it was a good 3 weeks before I prepared and emailed a statement of clarification for Shades and did so only because I was asked to by Liz.

I never once protested my banning.

I was banned, the ban was lifted and then I was banned eternally.

During the time that the ban was lifted, I made no attempt post on the board or enter chat.

I have never once asked to be unbanned and why? Because I didn't care[/i| and still [i]do not care banned.

At no point in his statement does he address the issues that have been raised with regard to him allow Darrick to remain on the board, not allowing his moderators to act on their own, and has addressed none of the comments that I made in my statement or allowed for the fact that he just might have been wrong.

I think what Shades fails to realize is that people have watched what took place and simply disagree with it. They want transparency and wow, good luck getting that. If he ever jars himself out of the stuck single minded, hands covered over the ears saying "la la la, I can't hear you" (as the saying goes). position he is in they might just get it. Maybe all the dick dancing will shake him loose.

After about 3-4 years it worked for the smilies. That little comet has got to come around again some time, right?

One more thing...

Quote:
POINT EIGHT: Liz, you and harmony may not have felt threatened, but I most certainly did. You two feeling threatened is not a prerequisite to me defending myself and others when necessary.

Wait. Did he forget about someone? You know....ME?

What about me feeling threatened? What about me defending myself and others when necessary?

He protected exactly no one against Darrick. He let Darrick stay on the board because Darrick amused him.

He tied the hands of his own moderators from acting on Darrick. (That didn't work with harmony who actually had the backbone to ban Darrick.)

I made reports that remained unattended to after approx. 12 hours.
I protested this on the board.

Do *I* have a right to defend myself and others?

Jersey Girl is now apparently claiming that it was all a misunderstanding, and that she was not intending to express an intention to take legal action that might have harmed Shades. Maybe, maybe ... But since I don't think Shades is under any obligation to take any personal risks in a matter such as this, I think we have to leave it to him to make the final decision here.

Nope.

Jersey Girl is not *now* apparently claiming anything.

I maintained my position from the very start. The statement that you read was emailed to Shades on April 10th.

I, in fact, PM'd Shades about what took place the moment I saw him online on the day all of this happened.

Stuff you don't know...

I may be wrong, but I was pretty certain Jersey Girl did not share that information on the board. She spoke about it in chat, and she confided in other board members, but I don't think she ever posted about it openly.

I think we should respect Jersey Girl's privacy with respect to her personal life and delete Marg's post.

H.

It was shared privately with others, including Shades, and I did mention it on the board.

So go screw yourself.

I find this quote to be the most damning (I had forgotten about it until I was copypasta'ing the PMs):

Thank you. I'm done with this bloody nonsense. If Joseph can get this board taken down, then so can I. I'm not up for EA's quibbling regarding this issue.

Shades said that acting against the board was okay with him. You didn't get the memo?

Again, go screw yourself.

Again, for what it's worth, neither Jersey Girl nor Liz is seeking to have the ban lifted. The issue at hand is whether or not Jersey Girl has been/is being misrepresented.

Hmmm....Let's see...In spite of what I think of Jersey Girl and Dan Peterson, I've helped both out with regards to this matter - warning DCP about Derrick's mental break and standing up to the village idiot Marg with respect to spilling private, in real life details about [personal information deleted]...and I get told to go screw myself.

Tell me again why I'm a classless piece of crap?

The point here, in case it has escaped you, is to show your motives, which you and your gang seem to think were harmless.

It's been about the ban (whether or not it was justified), as well as the way she has been represented (correctly or incorrectly).

I have nothing against Jersey Girl whatsoever, but she fought the law, and the law won.

I think her words stand for themselves.

by the way, is this horse dead yet?

Well, we can argue over the meaning and derivation of 'pussy' and evolution of language all we want. The point is, aside from Liz, I don't know the gender of JGs friends and Jersey Girl is not being singled out based on gender.

As I said, if Alter Idem wants to start a thread on my misogynistic ways, s/he can go right ahead.

I would NEVER waste my time doing something like that, to you or to any others here.

Maybe it's different in Canada, but in America, we say 'wussie', not 'pussy' if you want to call someone cowardly. I'll assume you didn't mean it the way it came across and accept your explanation.
