sock puppet and Trump are alike in so many ways. sock puppet and Joe Biden are alike in so many ways. sock puppet and Walt Disney are alike in so many ways. sock puppet and President Xi are alike in so many ways.

Where are you going with this…specifically? I’m interested in how much you think you actually know about me.

You and The Donald just make stuff up as you go, with no regard for the actual facts.
Of course, you may think that. Especially if it supports your worldview/ideology. You’re not alone. Humans naturally do that.

Oh, the irony…
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

First Presidency response to the Charlie Kirk assassination:
“The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints condemns horrific acts of violence worldwide, including the recent assassination in Utah. We affirm our repeated calls to seek peace and unity despite our differences. Jesus Christ teaches us to love one another, that hate is wrong and that human life is sacred.

“We urge all to reject violence and instead build understanding. Recognizing that we are all children of God, we must treat one another with more dignity, compassion and respect. As we mourn with those who have experienced loss and care for those living in fear or conflict, we call upon people everywhere to build communities of greater kindness and love.”
The outpouring of support for Kirk's family and the groundswell of youth that are joining with conservative values and organizations, including Turning Point USA, has been nothing less than astounding no matter what side of the political spectrum one might find themselves on. Most people would probably agree that for many years college campuses have been mainly liberal and left leaning in both educators and students. We are now seeing a movement in which there will hopefully be healthy debate and exchanging of ideas rather that what has been a rather one-sided dynamic which did not favor conservative leaning students. They now have a stronger voice.

With the words we've heard from Governor Cox and other folks of influence I think the tide may be turning towards more constructive dialogue between those that have opposing ideologies. Of course, there will still be those that favor violence and foster misunderstanding, but hopefully we will now see some positive changes towards greater civility and mutual understanding and respect.

This is a lovely post, but the mental gymnast didn't write it. It is clearly AI-generated.

Are you a member of Turning Point USA MG? If not, why aren’t you?
In 2016, the organization launched Professor Watchlist, a website that lists academic staff that according to TPUSA "discriminate against conservative students and advance leftist propaganda in the classroom."[6] TPUSA has attempted to influence student government elections in an effort to "combat modern liberalism on college and university campuses."[13][14][15] In 2021, TPUSA started its School Board Watchlist website, which publishes names and photos of school board members who have adopted mask mandates or anti-racist curricula.
It’s a Trojan Horse for fascism. Some more information
“If you make statements that right-wing politicians don’t like, then you can lose your job. Period. That is chilling,” said Isaac Kamola, director of the American Association of University Professors’ Center for the Defense of Academic Freedom, who runs a project called Faculty First Responders that helps professors who have been targeted by Turning Point or other groups. “The Professor Watchlist planted that seed.”

NBC News interviewed six professors on the watchlist, added between 2016 and 2023. Some are on it for work they published and others for outspoken social media posts. Once added, they received negative messages and comments; two said it escalated to death threats.
Have you contributed to this organisation that you are lauding MG?

I thought the same thing. There might be some traces of human-generated thought interspersed, but reads largely like AI.

My feeling is that now that we no longer have to contend with Kirk's rhetoric, perhaps there's more likely to be "healthy debate and exchanging of ideas". It has been clear for a long time that those who "foster violence" in the US are very largely on the right of the political spectrum - also fostering misinformation, misogyny and racism.

OTOH, who knows if his non-trad widow will be worse.

Two things. The healthy debate WAS occurring as the result of the work Charlie Kirk was doing. He was exercising his free speech rights while at the same time encouraging 'the opposition' to do the same. Second, the outcome of his assassination by someone that had moved towards the left has resulted in a peaceful and non-violent reaction by all those associated with the goals of the Turning Point organization and those that have gathered in memorial services.

Erika, in fact, forgave the killer.

Whether that might be said if it had been a progressive/leftist activist that had been killed by a far right 'wing nut' is debatable.

What's not 'debatable' is what that despicable piece of trash masquerading as the president said:
...While speaking at conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s memorial service in Arizona on Sunday, Trump said he disagreed with Kirk on wanting the best for his opponents.

“That’s where I disagreed with Charlie,” Trump said. “I hate my opponent and I don’t want the best for them. I’m sorry.”

His comments came after Kirk’s widow, Erika, said she forgave the man who killed her husband and that “the answer to hate is not hate.”

The mental gymnast's passive aggressive swipes are unnecessary. He has a president who actually behaves as despicably as he accuses others of theoretically behaving.

That’s not accurate. Here is a more accurate depiction of what Charlie Kirk was doing…
In preparing this reflection, I watched dozens of Kirk’s debates. Admittedly, that is only a small sample, but the pattern was unmistakable. What I saw was not respectful engagement but a pattern of smugness, condescension, occasional mockery, and, almost always, bad-faith tactics designed to turn the forum of “debate” into a vehicle for delivering divisive propaganda.

Kirk’s style was performative. He deflected strong counterarguments by demanding irrelevant concessions, disrupting the flow of discussion. He frequently talked over opponents, breaking their momentum. At other times, he used the Gish gallop: flooding opponents with a rapid-fire string of loosely connected assertions so that no one could reasonably rebut them all.

The advantage was compounded by his choice of opponents. He rarely engaged with people capable of blunting these tactics. Instead, he debated inexperienced laymen — often college students — who lacked the resources or training to challenge his rapid-fire deflections. That allowed him to appear confident, even affable. And on social media, these short, pithy clips were gold: tailor-made to juice the algorithm. What his exchanges almost always lacked was serious Socratic examination — the kind of probing dialogue that tests assumptions and clarifies truth. What looked like bold engagement with tough ideas was, in reality, a carefully staged performance. And the propaganda he pushed through these tactics was about as corrosive to civic discourse as can be imagined.[/quote
