1. Because the Bible teaches us that this is the state of those who fail to confess Christ Jesus as their savior (the TRUE Jesus), and this is the destination of liars, deceivers, and false prophets.
2. The death and violence being complained of in this thread, which is not the fault of Christians persecuting the "true" church, but the justified vengeance of God that the Bible prophesied. Also, Mormons have to suffer going through life as Mormons, confusing their pagan cult with legitimate Christianity.
