All I did was point out that it is a core doctrine, Wade, just like Plural Marriage and baptisms for the dead. I wouldn't pretend to know what you believe and haven't commented on it.

You seem to be reading way too much into my statements, Wade. Since I am the ultimate authority on what I find contemptable, my comment stands. You are speaking as an avowed Mormon, so that doesn't position you very well for speaking for me.

Curious that you show your bias by the comment "at least not in the minds of reasonable people." That is always a shrewd way of insluting people. For someone who tries to portray himself as interested in understanding what other people think, you take cunning pot-shots, don't you? That doesn't position you very well for inducing open responses.

I like Mormons who think they are cunning. It exposes their vainess, frailties and foolishness. As someone once said, When they are learned, they think they are wise and they harken too much to the examples of apologists who are bitter that their religious history and doctrines has so many flaws. (Edited for context.)
"Suppose we've chosen the wrong god. Every time we go to church we're just making him madder and madder" --Homer Simpson's version of Pascal's Wager
Religion began when the first scoundrel met the first fool.
Religion is ignorance reduced to a system.
