Hi Gaz, thanks for that site. I now know where your un-like-Gaz-words came from. I'm not surprised by their attack on Spong. When confronted by "revolutionary thinking" --their words describing Spong--a person usually does 1 of 3 things: Agree, disagree or be indifferent. Their position is obvious, much as was the Sanhedrian's reaction to the Revolutionary-Jesus: Pillary--CRUCIFY--the heretic/apostate!! As it seems you intend to do with Spong, and/or with anyone else who disagrees with you. (Seems me too?)
It appears we have a contest between Spong's theology/scholarship & Fundamentalist scholarship/theology. So be it. Time & intelligence will determine which is/will most positively effect society. You, Gaz have your side, & i have mine.
Doc, please forgive & excuse me for what i'm about to do:
Yes, I'm sure dumping and discarding all of ones covenants and believing there is no God would make someone feel relaxed. Kind of like people that drop-out of highschool to sponge off their parents and sit on the couch watching tv, very relaxing.
Gazzy, Gazzy, Gazzy--how low will You go, Bro? I'm relaxed cuz, "...i know the truth," as promised by MY "saviour". Too bad about yers not helping You out of your "frustration and anger." I am finding it increasingly difficult to understand your 'take' on Jesus & his teachings of charity & personal responsibility???
Come-on Bro, comparing ME to a "...a highschool-drop-out-sponge...couch-spud..."??? This is not gaining You points! IF you will do the deep-breathing thing, go for a long walk, study, fast & pray about this, then MAYBE we can continue this discussion sensibly & spiritually... Warm regards, Roger
