I suppose there is maybe some degree of similarily between Jason and harmony's positions, though not a great deal. But when you speak of people like Wade and especially Dr. Steuss you are talking about the completely sui generis.

In fact Steuss is extra-sui and multi-generis, a conundrumy enigma only truly understood by a pure-hearted and committed Steussite. (And even we don't fathom him, sometimes!)

The problem is leaders who have become too complacent, too insulated, too lazy to do their jobs. They're too rich, too privileged, too used to being fawned on and catered to, and they've lost touch with the members. They've abdicated their stewardship to the Corporation, and pay only lip service to the gospel they're supposed to spread. They shirk their personal responsibilities and need to repent. When much is given, much is expected, and they've been given too much and delivered too little on the expectations. They're too old, too white, and too male. I doubt there is any hope for any of the current crop. Let's hope the next generation does a better job, because this group has lost whatever discernment and inspiration they once had. Geez, they're embarrassing!'

I'm happy you were able to get out with your family intact, but some of us don't have it that easy.

And, in spite of everything, I do love my husband. I'm not willing to cause the firestorm that leaving would cause. Beyond that, there are still Christian aspects of the Church that I do believe in and find valuable. From what I gather, Harmony feels the same way.

Does that make me a hypocrite? In your eyes, I suppose so.

But as long-time members and tithe payers, Harmony and I have a vested stake in the Church. We have a right to voice our opinions, and to attempt to make changes from the inside if we see fit to do so.

And we have the right to come here and voice opinions as well. That's what this board is for.
