I disagree. I think parents should avoid taking drugs, too.
I didn't say that parents should start taking drugs. I said they should get educated properly so they can have worthwhile discussions with their children.
I was making a joke. When you said "get up to speed," I was pretending that I had interpreted that statement as "work up to taking methamphetamines" ('speed' in street parlance). You know, in the context of this thread about drugs and all.
Sorry about that. It's getting late here and I'm on the third beer. Is that a good enough excuse?
Probably not, but it is all I've got.
Peace.
edited to add: or perhaps it is all those damn drugs in my past, no?

I think it is a bit telling about what Mitt apparently sees as the lesser of two evils...appear perfect, so you are an example to the youth (even if that means a little white lie); or, tell the truth and be a poor example. I do see some parallels to Mormonism with always looking good to others, even if the world is collapsing.
And of course as a politician, he IS going to be asked...and the answer of "I don't think I should answer that" is a dead give away for "yes I did, but I don't want to tell you."
It might be a good idea to refrain from talking to kids about redemption and forgiveness. Perhaps we should keep them away from the Parable of the Prodigal Son as well. Never can tell what they would make of it.
