What, she agrees that women should never be able to hold the priesthood, that women's primary role in life is to bear children, and that education and career success ought to be secondary concerns? Is this what you are suggesting that she "agrees with"?
Yes, that is what faithful women in the church believe.
In other words, women must conform precisely to the dictates of the Brethren in order to be considered "faithful."
If I ever marry in the church, my husband better allow me to go as far as I desire in business, and support me in that which I chose to do. I intend to do something useful with my life.

Which brethren are you refering to, those here on earth who speak for the lord, or the boys upstairs?
Doesent matter I guess, the opinions are the same. I have an excellent old talk on the role of women in the church. Maybe I'll post it after I finish with my blog. Only 8 more entries to go.
We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light. - Plato

Pirate.
Do you intend to lobby for the priesthood, ala the early days of the Church? I.e., do you expect your LDS husband to be sympathetic to any desire you may have to wield the priesthood?

I don't like the priesthood because women can't have it and so what kinda god would split the rights of his children like that. It's like my parents giving my brothers christmas presents and not me. That would just be wrong. Why would I want to "wield" the priesthood? This has nothing to do with having a good future in business.

It does if you intend to remain a committed, TBM LDS. Doing so would entail you having to submit to the will of your priesthood-holding DH, and likewise falling into lockstep with the Brethren's 1950s-esque dictates vis-a-vis gender roles.

Agrees that women do not hold the Priesthood at this time, that women's primary role in life is to become perfect to return to live with God, and that worldly concerns of all sorts are to fall by the wayside if needed......
