IN addition, I really like the Production Company's name. What was it, Hummerthedinger or something like that?

Chris Heimerdinger is the author of the Tennis Shoes series and also the book this movie is based on. Apparently he is the producer as well.

He's also the producer of kicking doors down and domestic violence charges.

If LDS are going to make movies about historical subjects of this kind based around ideas central to our own theology and historical claims regarding ancient America and events claimed to have occurred there, then we're going to have to do far, far better than this.

The guy in the background looks like the typical male figure on a romance novel titled something like Sweet Savage Desire or something of the same ilk. The entire thing just reeks of a kind of Utah Mormon pop culture mode of interpretation of its own theological and historic narrative. I suppose this teenage girl goes back into time somehow and meets these characters? And why the appeal to the youth culture? Why not make a movie for adults?

If LDS are going to make movies about the Nephites and Lamanites, then let's get serious folks.

Bah, humbug!
The face of sin today often wears the mask of tolerance.
