Why do they just assume there will be sex if there are both genders present. Sex happens in prison and on submarines. That's a lot less sexy than Mars sex.

It's not sex I'd be worried about per se. I'd be concerned about pregnancies resulting in more passengers than planned for (every ounce of food in space is costly). I've seen people get pregnant despite being on the pill (although perhaps they weren't using it right).

Social dynamics is another question. Some may be bothered that people are getting nookie.
