Charity, I'm not sure anyone has said they feel it during a "rock concert".

Many have said they have felt it while listening to uplifting music. Or the national anthem. But rock music??

I think your sample might be skewed. Which "anti-Mormon message boards" are you perusing?

Once in a while I check in on RfM, but not often. The whiners are really off putting. Concerned Chrsitians likewise. I don't spend much time on anti boards, but my admittedly non-random sample shows up a lot of compaliners. Oh, yes, and quite a few of the ex or non-mo's from the MA&D complain about this, too.

Isn't that a little like going on Republican message boards looking for a Democrat?

"Most people do not report strong religious experiences" is not the same thing as "most people on exmormon.org do not report strong religious experiences."

Road to hana, did you notice in your post, you specifically asked WHICH anti-Mormon message boards I was persuing? I answered your question.
I have also given plenty of reasons why your statement that MOST people on the planet have religious experiences the same as LDS. 20% report they are not religious at all. Half of those left don't even go to church all that often. Your MOST is a small number.

Actually, I made that statement.
And you haven't given any reasons.
Just because a (nameless) poll says that 20% of people aren't religious, does not, by any stretch of the imagination, mean that they cannot and do not have spiritual experiences (which you are calling religious experiences).

Religion -specifically the one started by Joseph Smith Jr.- is not unique in relying on or attempting to facilitate spiritual experiences.

And are you saying people can only experience spiritual experiences in a church building? Or if they go to church that often. ?

I thought the reference to Islam, which is allegedly the fastest growing religion on the planet, was quite appropriate. These people aren't having a spiritual confirmation of the truth of their prophet?

Both of them?

Even for the most conservative of wards, they would have a hard time bringing her up on Court of Love charges for showing too much compassion for the poor and downtrodden. I assume that Sister Harmony would be safe in advocating such a cause on both levels. Still, it is interesting to think that such advocacy is rabble rousing in any but the most oppressive situations.

I think you're confused. Or else you're confusing.

I'm just wondering when "exmormons" became "most people."

Guilty - kinda.

I've had some (by no means all ;) ) of the most uplifting moments of my life listening to Jimi Hendrix & Eric Clapton guitar solos, amongst others.

This, of course, may be just an indication of how shallow I really am.
