And let me be clear, I don't necessarily mean moral problems. Pride, intellectual arrogance and humanistic self sufficiency, shallow materialism, and the materialist self absorption of an affluent, decadent cultural ethos, is as much "sin" as is adultery or breaking the WoW, and just as much a "reason' to find the Church untrue as is justification for moral or ethical weaknesses.

Moonbat??? Huh, that's different.
This is usually used in the political realm, but it fits here as well in some cases.
You said so a long time ago in a group chat session.
Nonsense. My family, those still alive, are very much active. Much of my inactivity has been due to my wife's continual illnesses and physical problems. Because of alcoholism, I'm not, at present, a full participant in all the blessings of the Gospel, but this hardly makes me "inactive" as in "fallen away". My biological son and my step sons are inactive, but that hardly encompasses all of my family.

Secondly, what does my being a recovering alcoholic have to do with anything?
Speaks volumes, especially since you admitted to being a 20+ year recovering alcoholic.
Care to expand upon this theory of volume speaking (and I'm almost 50). And you expect me to believe your urban tales bout rampaging vandal missionaries.
Pathetic.

Coggins7 wrote:OK. Let's start with every post you've ever made here since coming into the forum, at least as Boaz and lydia.
And what falls under the umbrella of "for the most part" as to which standards and disciplines have been modified or rejected?
I've never posted as Boaz and Lydia. I've only posted as Capt Jack.
"For the most part" means I'll drink coffee from time to time.
But this is getting far afield from the original post.

But what about the other standards and disciplines you have abandoned? The Church most definitely is true, and I know that of myself because God has revealed it to me personally in an unmistakable and indelible manner. I know of myself, not because the scriptures claim so, or because the leaders of the Church make similar claims.
Did you ever receive a testimony of the Gospel?

Yet, you choose to not embrace it 100%.
I guess its ok since Joe Smith did the same back when Jesus and God supposedly appeared to him.
Kinda like knowing that you have the winning lottery ticket, but just not finding the time to go and cash it in.
Since you love to defend Mormonism and chat with folks from around the net about it, why not skip this place and volunteer to be one of the online missionaries?

Let me get this straight. Coggins never served a mission, is inactive, and is still drinking???
Good grief.
I served a mission in france, and can verify that there are plenty of immature 19 year olds who made fun of catholicism there. It doesn't even surprise me they were stupid enough to take photos of it and get caught. They're a bunch of nineteen year old kids, for heaven's sake.

We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

Don't you mean "intellectual seriousness"?
Intellectual seriousness? Do not tamper with things beyond your understanding Scratch.
