My parents' missionary farewell, while on that stuff, was quite interesting, as well. But, I would love to have that experience of yours under my belt.

About drinks: I prefer a nice cold beer or to keep the mixed stuff simple---a martini or a gin and tonic. But, those Long Island Ice Teas mentioned above bring back memories of partying all night in Roppongi. That sure was fun.

You mean to tell me a Long Island Iced Tea doesn't have any tea in it?

I'll stick with regular iced tea, thanks.

Cahors, I say again. My default wine choice. And martinis. Real ones, not fauxtini's with fruit or other crap in them (though I'll stretch to one made with a chili-infused vodka). Harp lager was my beer of choice and I suppose it still exists somewhere in its "true" form, but here in North America I'm SOL. Guiness sold the license to a Canadian company so all the Harp we get here tastes like Canadian beer. That means I usually grab Anchor Steam. Anyway those are my drinking basics.

You should be careful mixing alcohol with energy drinks. It isn’t healthy for your heart, or your arteries and veins.

I personally loved a good Christian Brothers and diet Coke (you can do regular Coke too if you’re into sugar). It tastes brilliant. CB is probably the only brandy that mixes well (E&J is ok, but isn't quite as smooth). It isn’t too young to be tart, yet it is young enough that it doesn’t have the classic oak flavor. Your older brandies, although delicious should never be mixed and should only be drank at blood temperature.

Damnit, I want a drink…

I used to go to this joint where the bartender made the best Stoli martini. He had me actually craving them sometimes. After he had sufficiently ingrained within me the occasional craving for one, I decided to visit an actual martini bar (within the Hooters Casino). It was $25 for a (real) martini. I forked out my $25 (plus $5 tip), and got ready to have what I imagined would be the best martini I had ever had.

I discovered that martinis are much better when they are made with a touch of love… and only cost $4.

Well, I don't even drink soda let alone much else beside water, tea, and fresh fruit and vegetable drinks.

A splurge for me is some natural sparkling water with a splash of organic fruit juice on ice! ;-)

I can however make a mean virgin strawberry daiquiri with fresh strawberries! LOL!

But those who come with a few drinks in their system may giggle in the pew when sister so and so gets up again for testimony meeting. I guess the Church is afraid of a few outward bursts coming from Brother Johnson who is known to be more truthful after a couple of vodkas

I have not yet tasted Vodka and Red Bull. I may have to try that soon. I don't drink much, but when I do, I like this drink called "the long kiss goodbye", that's good. I appreciate a good mojito. I like wine. Vodka and cranberry is good. Mai tai's are good too. :-)
