And yeah, the church leaders aren't going to be happy about that one.

2006 is most recent and I do not think there are any changes in Church discipline.

As far as I know, it's not supposed to be made public, though I know quite a few folks have access to it. Also, there may be a newer version available. I do not believe updated versions are announced to the general membership--at least they weren't when I was a member.

Anyway, it's there for the reading.

My guess is that if the church finds this they will force them to take it off their web page.

My guess is that the Mormon church can huff and puff, but can't blow Wikileaks down.

I don't think they're going to make it disappear from Wikileaks!

The Church of Scientology is threatening Wikileaks due to their publishing of formerly unreleased Scientology manuals. Wikileaks isn't backing down at all. I think, at least for now, they're fairly untouchable.

Care to make a wager on it?

Mormons aren't supposed to gamble, Jason!

I don't think I should be party to your sinning.

Mister Scratch wrote:The thing I always found amusing about the CHI was the fact that the Church clearly wanted to keep it hidden away in the shadows. They didn't want people nosing around in it and picking apart the embarrassing bits (such as the material Mercury cited in a separate thread). On the other hand, TBMs (especially MAD-types) go absolutely ballistic when you adduce the CHI as evidence of secrecy within the Church. "It's all over the Internet!" they howl. And yet, would it be online if the Church had its way? No.

It is intrguing. I am not sure why they worry about it. Really it is mostly pretty boring stuff and I wonder why they care if it is public.

Yea but I am an anonymous hypocritical NOM Fringer. But it will be interesting to see if the Church tries to make them take it down.

Doesn't seem to be a big deal. I've never been turned down when I asked to read the CHI. It's probably a diabolical plot just to get you guys to step into the Church to read it.

Can women read it, too?

Of course.

Of course not. Women can have it read to them. Or women can read it while the bishop watches, to make sure they don't turn the pages and read something he didn't give them permission to read. Women cannot have one in their possession.

Sure they can. I think if some woman wanted to read it and asked to borrow a copy most reasonable bishops would let her see it. And women have their own copy of book two.
