It's telling that the salamandersociety folks are hard up for for objects of ridicule of late.
One moment in annihilation's waste,
one moment, of the well of life to taste-
The stars are setting and the caravan
starts for the dawn of nothing; Oh, make haste!

That's pretty benign for Salamander Society, LOAP.
I've talked to some Mormon friends this week who said that until this story arose in the press, their children didn't even know that the LDS Church had ever practiced polygamy. I think it's good to get things out there to educate the public, and that includes the general membership of the LDS Church, that the relationship is much closer than the LDS leadership would have the public believe.
These people have a tradition that traces back to the mainstream LDS Church, and to Joseph Smith. This isn't some splinter group that arose out of nowhere and decided to just go to DI to buy someone else's hymnals.
The had the full support and approval of the mainstream church until after the Second Manifesto was issued. Many of us here could just as easily have been born into it as mainstream Mormonism.
The road is beautiful, treacherous, and full of twists and turns.

Hence, the photo of the hymnbook is very telling.

Yes. I talked to one Mormon this week whose own children didn't realize they were descended from polygamist ancestors, and were shocked to learn it.
When did this change? We were raised as LDS children knowing polygamy was an important principle in the church that wasn't currently being practiced, but eventually would return.
The road is beautiful, treacherous, and full of twists and turns.
