I'd really like to know if Shades counts me as one of those people that sent him a PM. If that's the case he can scratch me off that list as I made it clear to him last Feb I wasn't complaining about her actions on the board, I was seeking clarification as to what happened and the way I viewed the inconsistent way the board was doing split offs -- which still occur, yet, I barely even care anymore.

I have ALLL of those PMs saved and just reviewed them and in them I even asked for him to make it clear (on the board in a thread Mercury had created) that I was not saying Jersey Girl did anything inappropriate as a mod on the board, merely I wanted to know who had split something off -- and of course it turned out to be Shades.

Soon being. . . when?

I should never look at this board while on my lunch hour! I do have meetings this evening however, I will try to get back to this later this evening. Gotta run.

That would depend on whether or not you board sinned recently. If so, please report yourself to the powers that be. None of which are apparently me.

I wouldn't be comfortable sharing any more than what I already shared in the original thread, to whit:

I'm afraid that the votes of "no confidence" in my InBox have reached critical mass. Rather than continuing to argue with them, I think it would be easier to gain goodwill if [she] merely were no longer a moderator.

Beyond that, if any of the various and sundry people who have PMed me about her wish to speak up, that's their choice.

Shades,

Would you be comfortable explaining what a critical mass of votes of "no confidence" actually means? In looking in at this poll, I see that folks have voted:

79% Confidence
20% No Confidence

34 voted

I remembered that Mercury made another poll regarding me as moderator and checked on that. It was not long after I became moderator (but I didn't look up that date). Here's the link: http://mormondiscussions.com/discuss/viewtopic.php?p=129927&highlight=uncomfortable#129927

At that time folks voted:

66% Confidence
33% No Confidence

34 voted

I'm no statistician yet, doesn't that mean that from February to June, my "confidence" rating as a mod actually went UP?

This is a statistical case you are making. I think the rational counter to this would be to clarify if this is related to a pattern of behavior or a handfull of incidents. Compared with the experiences of other mods as character witnesses.

Sorry, maybe I should have put a gag order on Mods for commenting until we hear this play out.

Mercury,

When you wrote this,

I think the rational counter to this would be to clarify if this is related to a pattern of behavior or a handfull of incidents.

Are you referring to a pattern of behavior/handful of incidents on MY part or on the part of complainers?

This is actually pointed at Shades to answer. Was it a continuous pattern or specific incidents? In essence, what did the pile consist of that reached critical mass? Whats its halflife? How dangerous is the radiation emanating from the "jersey Haters Club" and what does embarrassing Jersey have to do with this matter?
