To remain this way is to inflict further destruction and a future punishment upon their soul. Ending their mortal condition is to do them a favor in that it is ending their state of mortal probation. Obviously in the case of homosexuality they will be unable to act upon their sinful nature, and therefore they cannot continue to break the law of chastity. A law second only to murder.
as far as I know, the brethren advocate nothing of the kind. That said, what other sins do you think are good for blood atonement? Child abuse (I might go in on that one)? Alcohol? Failing to pay a full tithe? Pornography--perhaps on the second offense?
That's General Leo. He could be my friend if he weren't my enemy. eritis sicut dii I support NCMO
That's the great thing about religion, isn't it? You can believe that God wants to kill people over your personal pet peeves.
Lou Midgley 08/20/2020: "...meat wad," and "cockroach" are pithy descriptions of human beings used by gemli? They were not fashioned by Professor Peterson.
LM 11/23/2018: one can explain away the soul of human beings...as...a Meat Unit, to use Professor Peterson's clever derogatory description of gemli's ideology.
Child abuse (I might go in on that one)? : I think the scriptural response to this as stated by Christ is that they should have a millstone hung around their neck and thrown into the ocean.
Alcohol?: I think there is far to much emphasis placed on the word of wisdom. I think it funny that so much emphasis is placed on alcohol and tobbaco and the large part about eating right and excercising is completely ignored. I see these commandments as introductory commandments, where a child reared in the church can say that they were obedient to these small ones, so the larger ones can also be accomplished. Punishable by death? No, just disfellowship.
Failing to pay a full tithe? Tithing is all about seperating oneself from desiring worldly things. It creates a mindset that heaven is more important than this world. Punishable by death? No, just disfellowship.
Pornography--perhaps on the second offense? Your too vague here. Are you talking about the consumption of it, or the creation of it?

My personal pet peeve? You need me to quote some scriptures for you on the law of chastity? Maybe a few conference talks? I have a personal favorite from a BYU address I could link for you.

What do you mean law of chastity? What if the gay persons are legally married?

Please clarify blood atonement for me. Who does the killing?

I'm at my in-laws at the moment, so I don't have my notes on it to give you a proper responce. To my understanding it exists solely in a time of a religious government. An unrepentant person who has made covenants to their God and is actively seeking to tear down the church and or tear down doctrines and promote an unchaste lifestyle is taken and executed in order to save their own souls. (As I stated before)
I can't remember if this is an actual ordinance. I only studied it out once, and you know how good my memory is. I believe it involves a pre-dug grave, and the persons throught is slit and they are to bleed out before burial.
