Re: To Mr Scratch
I just want to say that I'm humbled by Brother Scratchopolis's wisdom and faith, although I'm disturbed by his troubling revelations about Mister Scratch -- which my creepy network of anonymous "informants" confirms as entirely true.
This is a watershed moment in the history of Scratcholepsy.
Will Mister Scratch take Scratchopolis's post seriously?

I doubt this very much.
... and I am absolutely embarassed that your brand of dialog about the Church is published on the internet, let alone in print. Your entire attack on my old faith appears to consist largely of making childish personal attacks and snide comments about apologists of the Church.
Certainly such are included in this writings, but there is also a lot of substance.
Here's a hint: be bigger than those who criticize you, and maybe someone will take you more seriously than they will the apologist. Be bigger, kinder, and more in control of the facts and your own argument than those who criticize you, and maybe you'll reveal the Church for what it is. As it is, your tactics are an embarrassment to those who left.
I disagree. Sounds more like 'attack the messenger rather than answer the message.'
You will drive more people back to the Church of Jesus Christ than you will ever help leave it.
This kind of a line exposes you as a TBM, because it is so absurd.

Yet the same line given by a Lehi Cranston in opposite doesn't expose him as a critic? Instead people are humbled by his wisdom......hmmm......
"Surely he knows that DCP, The Nehor, Lamanite, and other key apologists..." -Scratch clarifying my status in apologetics

I was humbled by the wisdom of the opening post of this thread, and don't want its rich insights to be forgotten.

That's the only kind of praise I really like.
Thank you. I think we're going to get along famously.

Yep, that's all it takes, Scratchopolis. Pucker up and kiss his butt, feed his undernourished ego, and he'll respect you. Make an honest assessment of how he comes off, and you're just a troll with whom he can't have a serious discussion.
It's a pretty straightforward system for danny boy.
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.

I think you missed the hyperbole. I think this board is a trainwreck where the half-sane of both sides scream and throw poop at each other.

I don't often find Scratch's threads edifying, but I usually find them entertaining. It's sort of like reading the National Enquirer or watching Judge Judy. If they don't interest you, you do the grown-up thing and ignore them. Crying about how puerile they are just shows that you missed the point.

That's regrettable.
Obsessive character-assassination doesn't seem to me a very respectable spectator sport.
