What I think is most interesting about your story is that it appears that your desire to want peace, and to heal, and to see and understand things is very strong.
I see those as very positive qualities, but think that sometimes those qualities can be taken advantage of, as part of a "trick," or the use of guile, even.
I thought this was the point you were driving toward.
