I care about stem's participation only to the extent that I cared to open this thread (I do admit, I got a chuckle out of the OP).

Stay stem, or go, based on whatever you want to do. If I based my participation on the number of people I suspect wanted me gone over the years, I'd have left ages ago. Ultimately, isn't your participation here for your benefit? Why worry what everyone else here thinks of you? If you're posting for popularity, I believe you're in the wrong place.

In addition to my interest in Mormonism, it is the variety of perspectives, beliefs, and opinions that I find to be a unique treasure at this board.

The majority of my experience/time here has been very thought provoking, humbling, and perhaps most important (IMHO) a place where you can read/digest/consider contributions of other human beings that may have traveled roads that your journey might have never even known existed on the map.
(Without question, a rare and precious opportunity)

Why the hell are people telling Stem to stay? He already made the choice to stay. The OP was from March, I just wanted to remind everyone that the fallout from a Stem quote can affect your friends too.

Fear not. When I quote Stem I will change the name to "branchknee" and translate everything into Klingon. I'm sure that's a compromise everyone will agree is reasonable.

I absolutely, categorically do not want Stem, to go.

But I respect the fact that he has the personal freedom to choose his own actions and must stand by whatever he decides. I would not respect any attempt on his behalf to blame others for his departure if he so chooses.

I'm quite the controversial figure. Poor Stak's anymosity towards me only rises when people miss his point, it seems. Really I have pity on the fella (I was going to say "chap" but there is that chap guy here).

In Stak's ideal world, its apparent, no one would respond to, allude to, or acknowledge me at all. Sounds like a fun world--just tossing out people you don't like. If people are truly that hostile around here, then I say go for it. I'll happily leave. Life's too short to worry about whether people who can't stand ya and are trying to strong arm you out of their life will succeed in their game. Just let me know and I'll depart. And no ill-feelings will be coming from my end. I'm only here, afterall, to learn and grow.
