Honestly, I hope Daniel Peterson doesn't even bother to read message boards for the next little while. Still, on the chance he does read it, I do wish his family the best. It's amazing how differently time flows in a hospital. I find that recovery seems to come faster when one is at home and I hope that's possible sooner rather than later.

Dan, hope everything turns out okay for your boy. I'm confident your in real life support system of friends, family, and well-wishers is ridiculously humongous, but just know that anonymous internet strangers are pulling for your son, too. All the best.
Sorry to hear the news about your son. The only encouragement I can offer is to let you know that our family went through the same experience several years ago with our oldest son.
It was a very trying time. We were lucky to live in the Boston area at the time and were able to get great medical care for him. He had several subsequent and less severe seizures, but was eventually able to recover with no apparent permanent damage.
He went on to finish college, graduate from medical school, and has a great practice.
He is TBM and would tell you that it was his faith in God that pulled him through and was responsible for his recovery.
Based on the experience of our family, my only suggestion is that you and your son strongly consider the most aggressive (non-surgical) options that are offered for his treatment. Controlling the seizures is of paramount importance.
And remember that young brains can heal.
Best wishes,
Bary

Sorry to hear about your son, a seizure can be a frightening thing. I hope everything turns out well Your son and your family are in our families prayers. My oldest in particular is moved by your sons seizure, she was recently diagnosed with a seizure disorder, so FaiFai says hello to him. Peace to you and yours.
Dan you and your family are gladly in my prayers. I can't fast because of health reasons or I would. I have a daughter waiting on a donor list for a pancreas and a kidney.... I do know that when one of your children are hurting you hurt with them. I hope and pray you are able to take the time and be with him as much as you can. It is times like this that we are reminded of what is really important.
God bless

I am so sorry Dan's son is facing this medical challenge, and hope for the best. I know Dan and the entire family must be going through a lot of stress.
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.
"Any over-ritualized religion since the dawn of time can make its priests say yes, we know, it is rotten, and hard luck, but just do as we say, keep at the ritual, stick it out, give us your money and you'll end up with the angels in heaven for evermore."
