Zeezrom, I wish not to be Savannarola to your Botticelli. I am distincly more comfortable with greek demigods than I am with trying to treat Mary and Jesus as Demigods. Artists have been using greek gods to unlatch imagination for a long time now. Sometimes that has worked very well.
I doubt there is a book to show how to do what Botticelli did. It is not quite the same as drawing things. There is some excellent relevant instruction written by William Blake.
